If you’re planning your wedding to be a black tie affair you might think that wearing a tuxedo is the only way to go. Now, if we’re being really technical, that’s true, but there are more options for black tie than tuxes, especially when we get into wedding dress codes like black tie optional,…

I just stumbled into this video. I see you save the best for last 😂. I learned many new information from your video. Thanks for sharing.
man you made me fall in love with the double breasted tux! I'm officiating a black tie wedding in March and looking at Spier & Mackay's DB tuxedos. They have a 100% wool one and a black stretch version made with 98% wool and 2% elastane. What would you recommend? Thanks!
Black (Tuxedo) and white tie (Frac) weren't just for night? For the more formal wedding outfit I have always thought of the Tight (morning suit(?)).
How many tuxes do you have??
I love White tie
What's the shawl lapel in your burgandy dinner jacket called?
this is what I want 💫
Can you do a video on White Tie
Hi. I noticed you wore velvet slippers eith the velvet jacket. Aren't they casual for a wedding?
Just as an interesting factoid about white tie dress code. The whole debate of the wing tips in front of or behind the bow tie is purely a modern dilemma. Historically, when colors were higher at the time when white tie was frequently being used, the tips were simply above it.
My tuxedo is double breasted. Def wanna wear it if/when I get married
Hello Brian, my husband purchased a tuxedo that has pick stitching around the collar and peak lapels. Will this make the tuxedo less formal and not suitable for black tie? Any input will be greatly appreciated as he has not had it altered and it can still be returned. Thank you very much
Man, that cream dinner jacket is so good. Really dig your channel!
Amazing..
great video man! I can only dream to have such an extensive tailored wardrobe like yours!
👌👌👌👌👌👌
would it be appropriate to wear white tie to a conference dinner or gala dinner? The attire of other people would mainly be suit and tie (or blazer and dress pants)
How tall are you?
Can’t decide between #4 double breasted black tux that you wore for your wedding or # 3 with the low vest for my wedding next year. Both are so sharp!!
Hi Brian! I must say Look #9 screams Lord Grantham of "Downton Abbey." 🙂
fantastic reference point. I definitely want my wedding to be black tie one day
Great video,as always
Number 5 : look awesome. That’s my favorite look .
Great video! I'm a big fan of the ivory dinner jacket look. I've always wondered, do you think it's appropriate to wear that style of jacket/outfit to a black tie wedding as a non-groom or even groomsman?
Wait a sec, isn't a tuxedo meant to be worn only during the evening? I don't know, maybe it's different in the US but here in Europe, you'll never see a tuxedo worn for a wedding
Wow! This is just so inspiring!
These days just wearing a neck tie and anything more than a collar and chinos if considered formal.
Oh wow!!! All so elegant. Particularly like the final white tie and tails!!! Just needs a top hat to complete the outfit👍
This is so useful, especially as someone who is constantly asked what tuxedos they should wear for their wedding — I can just refer them to this. I only wish that you took a sec to explain that your wedding ≠ prom, and that your accessories shouldn’t match the bridesmaids’ dresses, etc.
Nice video! I think every guy needs a tux. Those are some great options. If you rent a tux, you might as well buy one.
Very, very well done Brian! Honestly I think wearing a suit is an event of itself these days let alone black tie, but I'll be saving this video for hopefully sometime in the near future! – Han
May I say Brian you are just the foremost authority on looking suave, cultured, elegant, and chic in all things tux related. In comparison to your encyclopedic knowledge of how to be fashionable and aesthetically pleasing in your dress, Daniel Craig could never pull off the tux in as cool and classic way as you even in the James Bond movies. In fact, you make Daniel Craig in a tux look less like James Bond and more like a third accomplice to Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson when they wear those rented tuxes to crash weddings in Wedding Crashers so they can drink free alcohol and prey on the emotions of vulnerable women! Although there is nothing wrong about that lifestyle they made it look fun and comical!
👍👍👍
Very Sharp
Might've even gone with a black pocketsquare with that cream jacket
The white tie ensemble at the end almost felt like a plot twist in a film. Very nice outfits, I love the golden dinner jacket look, probably a bit casual for weddings as the groom in my opinion but if I have a son or daughter I might have to hypnotize him or her into having a black tie wedding and not making the entire wedding party dress in the exact same outfit.
Thoughts on a tuxedo without a cummerbund or vest?
I still don’t understand why Americans wear dinner suits to weddings. Morning suit or lounge suit.
Newish subscriber, I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now, really great content. Thank you for all your style advice, just wish i had you to go shopping with! Cheers.
Great one, i would love to see a video about morning dress 👍💍🥂
Are you going to do a daytime formal code?
Very nice! I really like the midnight blue look.
wow ,massive ,fantastic ,fabulous ,mindblowing ,excelent
Oh, how I wish this was relevant 💔
Look 9 looks sick
Black Tie is my favorite dress code. It makes me bring my inner James Bond 🤵
Great video, and perhaps rather timely. I've always been particularly fond of the double breasted look. I have a nice black watch dinner jacket, too, so maybe switching out could be in store. Thanks, as always.
Not a fan of the wing collar for black tie?
As always, best videography on outfit ideas on YouTube!
