A loaf of bread, jar of peanut butter, maybe jelly if it was in my budget, ramen noodles at least 10 packages. A pb sandwich one day and the next ramen. That should last two weeks….Sometimes. That’s been the budget for a while now. Pretty sick of it.
Organic, lol. All vegetables are organic. You've been tricked by marketing firms to imply that garden variety or GMO meats and vegetables are somehow unnatural or inorganic.
If you want to save money at the grocery store, get back to basics. Meat, potatoes and veggies for dinner. Eggs, although they have increased in price are still an excellent choice for breakfast and the protein keeps you full. For lunch, I eat home made salad with proteins like hard boiled eggs or beans, cheese and maybe a meat product. I make my salads ahead of time so that I don't go off track. Stay away from social media that entices you to make recipes with expensive ingredients that you may not use again, like spices and stick to wholesome meals and never underestimate leftovers – cooking once and eating twice frees you up to enjoy other things.
I simply stopped buying groceries for the past few weeks. I realized I have so much stuff in the pantry and freezer already. I imagine a lot of us are in the same situation. I'm going to try to use everything I have before grocery shopping again.
I'm 63 and have never bought organic foods. Sure, I might die 5 years earlier because of that, but those last 5 years are hell anyway! Always look at the bottom shelves and the tippy-top shelves to often find lower priced items (store brands usually). Look for sale items or even clearance sometimes if you are going to consume right away. I bought a gallon of milk the other day for $1.53 (more than half regular price). I poured half into a pitcher and froze it and used the rest well before the expiration date.
I've found that trying to find the most affordable protein sources helps. Do out the math to find out how much you are spending per gram of protein. Rotisserie chickens, chicken breast, ground turkey, and protein pasta can all be decent options to hit your protein goals. Then the carbs and stuff are usually pretty cheap anyways.
Meal plan, meal plan, meal plan! My family and I have theme nights. Monday is pasta, Tuesday is taco Tuesday, Wednesday is breakfast, Thursday is sandwiches and Friday is pizza. We keep basic ingredients in the fridge and pantry and change out the protein or the vegetable.
Growing up in the 60s, we ate beans and more beans. Look for foods you can make one dish out of, for example, tuna casserole. Look for dishes that require portions of meat you can cut up. My kids used to call my dishes "stretchy foods". The freezer is your friend if you secure your food well. Mom would wrap our meat in butcher or parchment paper and with foil and a bag. She also used to only buy groceries once a month and she looked for bulk items. I have stopped going three times a week. I have also stopped buying pre packaged and convenient items. Why pay extra for meat I can cut myself? Finally, our family have pot luck every Sunday. Having to retire earlier has put a fire on my heels. Please young people don't let this happen to you. Listen to this video and see whatever helpful tips that's out there. Good tips.😊😊
1 2 and 3 should be Get frozen fruits and veggies, they are cheaper, you can buy larger amounts and they can go into smoothies, milkshakes, stews, or just on the side.
Fresh and organic means spoilage. If you want an apple, buy an apple, you dont need the giant coscto pack of apples or oranges if realistically you eat 2 and the rest get consumed by an army of fruitflies.
Omg! Stop and Shop! I used to live in Massachusetts, now SC and I miss Stoppies 😢 Also no or very few unit prices posted here (or they are comparing quarts to pounds to grams to units per package all for the same type of item 🤬). I always have my calculator out so I can figure out the better deal by unit price.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) There is nothing more important then getting right with the Creator, Jesus Christ. Those that refuse to come before him and repent with godly sorrow for sinning against him will stand before him in judgment and be cast into the lake of fire. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Heb 9:27) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
Don’t discount looking at ads and clipping coupons. We do not have to sacrifice by eating “boring meals” because I check the app for my grocery store, plan meals around what is on sale and clip their coupons digitally. We eat really well, and buy so much that we end up donating shelf stable items because we actually buy more than we need and are spending way less per month than we budgeted this year.
Looking at sales and clipping coupons has never been easier . Everything is so easy and accessible. I don’t get why people are so against it , I’ve save hundreds of dollars on groceries every year because of this.
Very true – and definitely agree with the being realistic part! I think some other extra tips should also be taking into account which expensive groceries to discontinue buying and which expensive groceries to invest in, depending on if you don't live alone and live in a household/family where people have some food allergies/intolerances, or their food/health beliefs require buying the more expensive food (I have elderly family members that are into eating a lot of organic food, and would discard eating any other kind of they can help it – though they also tend to be picky about organic food, in case some of them aren't healthy too, so my family budgets to keep organic food in mind and often read food labels). Would also recommend people keep a notebook/journal to help with everything, including food/groceries/health-related things – my family always documents anything during doctors' visits, grocery lists, budgets, etc.

Stop and Shop. Yup. Them yellow stickers are savers.
I wait for the videos of how we eat the rich who make our lives miserable and forced to cut on everything possible.
I've learned there are 2 types of women, City women, and gardeners.
And don't buy organic, most of it is a scam anyways.
Save half on your groceries by switching to donald trump
Basic math isn't allowed nc u took away everything i knew so.not allowed to exist
A plant-based diet is also a lot cheaper.
No way a strong independent single mom would ever have to think about any of this.
Shame on you!

Go to the Mexicans grocery store
Yes being honest is key! Great video 😊

Make a list, helps a lot
Less ingredients & use spices (many you may already have) to make them exciting also by switching up spices in the same recipes.
Gosh!!! I’m not a girl, I just have a high voice… I’m 35 years old!
Also don’t shop while hungry

I love your outfit, head to toe🥰
SPEAK SLOWER. Good grief. Want to listen to a person, not a robot

Buying off brand stuff saves you so much. You can buy three boxes of cereal for almoat half the price.
You know you could cut in half to a third by not buying organic.

Scan and go helps too because you can see your bill accumulate and won’t be blindsided when you get to check out

Eat healthfully.
Bidenomics got me struggling, having to downgrade
the economy is falling apart if i need to buget FOOD.
Low what you get!?
“Me too” should be “I too”. “Less ingredients” should be “fewer ingredient”. I could not watch this video past this point. The English is bad :/
