I feel stuck after we have signed the contract in Jan 2023 but now my venue is telling us they want to charge an additional $300 for a keg of beer due to price increases. Is this normal? Wedding date is 6/24 and we’re about to pay everything off. I feel like they’re not being fully transparent about their fees.
YOU LOOK SO CUTE IN THIS VIDEO!!!
Photographer here! And yes! Listen to this video! She is spot on!!

I just found your channel and I am in love! All the tips and tricks that you show us are AMAZING! With normal Youtubers, I get really bored with watching them talk, but not with Jamie. Your videos always give me a smile and make me feel so much better about planning a wedding in the future! Thank you for what you're doing on here!!
Planning our wedding (armed with knowledge from you) I've been able to negotiate with almost all of our vendors and have said 'ballin' on a budget' more times than I'd like to admit haha
SHE HIT 100K 🎉🎉🎉
I GET MARRIED TODAY!!!!!
By any chance do you have any experience when it comes to couples making decisions over alcohol in their events? Our families want alcohol, but we are not big drinkers(rarely even socially). We will like to be somewhere in the middle, any ideas?
P.S. culturally alcohol in weddings is expected, and we have experience seeing family bringing in outside alcohol to other weddings(since childhood). Idk how we can avoid this.
I'm finding with the increase demand with the world reopening watch out for discounts from vendors competing for your business. Got a great deal from my photographer and dj offering restart discounts.
Hi Jamie! I’m a new YouTube follower of yours and love your channel! My wedding date was just set for next Summer! Weee! There’s a subject I’d love for you to touch on please in an upcoming video and I know I’ve seen other people request it in the comments. We’d love your opinion on the best wedding website. Ie. Zola, Wedding Wire, The Knot etc. – please I need to know what’s the best! Also, what’s the best way to set up a honeymoon fund? I think you can do that through Wedding wire. I’d love to know the comparison, the good bad and ugly of them all. Keep up the good work! We all love what you are doing!
YouTubers always apologizing for traffic snd weather noise .Girl it's fine we don't hear anything if you didn't acknowledge the sirens or honks or thunder we wouldn't even notice. So don't even worry about it
💗
My wedding planner and vendors wanted to work with us. We were the biggest wedding they would have during the pandemic: 100 guests in person and 70 people on the professional Livestream service we paid for. People who would be there in person were willing to get tested. Those who didn't want a test chose the Livestream. And we were kind and polite. Winning combo.
We got an extra night for the wedding party to sleep on site (5k value) because we chose a Friday. Our photographer gave us his most expensive package at the regular price. We didn't even know and only realize it when he sent the pictures. He said it's because he liked us.
Our baker added extras to the cake when we went for the most modest one she had, because we joked that her last name meant "cake" in our native language (she googled it and it was true, lol).
We were kind and accomodating, because we were focused on getting married, not the wedding. The vendors liked our stress free attitude and went above and beyond.
Phrase concerns as questions rather than demands. Instead of saying "that seems like too much money, I don't want to pay x amount for it", try "the cost is higher than I expected – could you break down the price for me so I can understand why?"
I saved about $300+ by asking for discounts by paying in advance in cash. 10% off wedding venue and DJ and waving delivery fees for a cake and horse-pulled carriage. Not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but every bit counts.
Love your videos!! 💕 would you please consider doing a video about winter weddings? ❄
I usually watch my youtube videos at 1.25 or 1.5x speed… With Jamie it's not necessary lol😂
You've also done newer vendors a solid because now they too won't devalue their (or hopefully another vendor's!) work.
Kindness pays for itself! Had a great relationship with our original venue and when mum and I went to venue to pay the deposit they invited us to join their lunch service for free. (And then obviously back a few days later for the wedding tasting to confirm menu choices)
Our new venue included the extra 4 rooms and breakfast for free. And when asked included more children for free too. So don't be afraid to ask politely and build up the relationship you will enjoy your day so much more when you already feel like they are friends and it's in good hands.
Thank you for a great video once again Jamie 🙂 x
Question about not nit picking the packages. We are getting a company to do set up for decor etc. we have sent them a picture of what we want and they sent us back a quote. Is it okay to look at the quote and be like no I don’t want the roof decor but I want everything else?
Wrong way: "No, 150$ is too much. How about I pay you 50$ instead and you can have some food from the buffet after you're done?"
Yes, this happened.
OMG I LOVE YOU AND ALL YOUR VIDEOS!! THANK YOU!!!!
