We own a house in Puerto Rico host on Airbnb an ocean front house that sleeps up to 16 very spacious and private. Some of our guests have their wedding and birthdays there. We don’t mind. Most guests follow the house rules
I think it’s awesome to have a wedding and honeymoon at the same place 🎉❤😊

We found a venue in Colorado Springs partial all inclusive for $9,500. Only things we have to get on our own is photographer, catering, and booze

We are kindred spirits, madam! I found a gem of a “government-owned” venue for my partner’s 40th birthday. Really nice place for not too expensive of a price! You are absolutely right about the restrictions though. They were very strict about a fair few things.

Also, you nailed it with Peerspace! Really awesome site to find much more affordable venues. I was looking there for my wedding and found two really beautiful places. May God bless you for your work!

Planning a wedding sounds expensive and exhausting. Seriously considering just a courthouse wedding for $100

We had a small 60 person wedding.
Plus, we did a luncheon instead of a dinner at maggiano's little italy restaurant.
Wonderful food, was careful of allergies, and even saved our butts when I forgot the gluten free cake (everyone who had gluten allergies sat at one table and got creme brulee) didn't even know abound it until afer the fact. they were great to work with 😊

I'm looking for a venue in/around Texas, and a really pretty venue I've found is the Wichita Falls River Bend Nature Center. The botanical gardens here are insanely expensive, but the RBNC is so gorgeous and cost much less than I expected. It just doesn't have a kitchen, but a food truck is on my idea list haha

I know this video is a little older but we’re getting married in a cemetery in October in front of a mausoleum. All we had to do was get permission from the owner so the entire ceremony part is FREE (besides where we’re staying the night before and gas) plus we love the thought of “death do us part” so the cemetery is romantic to us. The reception is 2 hours away from the ceremony but we’re ok with that because we’re keeping the ceremony intimate, and we get a two hour car ride alone together before having to mingle with the rest of the family. We’re going to do family photos first so those who aren’t part of the bridal party can start heading to the reception and get something to eat on the way there if they’d like so we’re not stressed about people waiting around while we do the rest of the photos.
Not to mention our reception location is inside of a state park at a fully inclosed recreation building. We’re going to have to stop by a family member’s house on the way to pickup all our decorations, cake, drinks, ETC but that’s ok because we plan on there being plenty of time to set up and if we start to run out of time we trust everyone who was at the ceremony to help finish setting up the reception while we go to another location in the park so family arriving don’t see us before the reception starts. (Going to rent the same location a few weeks before to “mock up” what we want it to look like and take pictures so no one gets confused on what we want the space to look like). It was only $40 to rent the location for one day. It’s available from around 10am till 11pm which is freaking amazing! Thank you so much for all your advice and I hope this helps other couples who are struggling to find cheap options but still looking to have a great time!

Anybody know of indoor/outdoor, or outdoor and covered outdoor options for ceremony+ reception under 5k without catering for 100-120 guests or under 9k with catering in Northern California??? I'm looking and I don't understand all the verbiage I'm looking at these menus and it's saying 100 a head (is this on top of a 6k base price?!?). I'm trying to have a 15k- 20k total wedding and I can't really cut down on people.

Wow I love this video and personality but this has just proven to me that this is not what. I want though I do not want an expensive wedding! I want a vibe where venue and reception are together no driving back and forth and ideally everyone staying today whether hotel block etc I’m thinking my best option is newer orchard farm venues OR destination all inclusive probably Mexico wedding ! Could you do a destination wedding video?

So anther fun thing with parks, botanical gardens, and beaches at least for those of us in Hawaii and a factor MANY people in the wedding groups I'm in do not consider: the number of restrictions. Our botanical gardens here have the following caveats to their use for weddings, aside from a permit of course:
-must observe garden hours (most close at 4pm)
-you cannot restrict or prohibit other visitors use of the garden
-limited parking, if the garden has an entry fee it must be paid for all guests
-no alcohol, receptions, or throwing rice
-No musical instruments of sound amplification (some will allow with a special permit)
-No tents, chairs, tables, and similar items (special permit required but not common)
-Separate permit for photography, in addition to garden permit

For beaches, you need a special permit because weddings are considered commercial activity but you are not allowed to set up chairs, tables, or other similar large items that may obstruct public access to the beach and I believe there are also restrictions on alcohol and sound amplifications.

Parks have fewer restrictions once you get the permit, but some fun ones include:
-shall not "construct, use, place, occupy, leave, or in any other many, situate any tent"
-shall not " Engage in or conduct any activity that creates any sound, noise or music exceeding 80 dBA sound pressure level taken at a point 10 feet in front of the source for a cumulative time period of at least five minutes when measured with a calibrated American National Standard Institute (ANSI) Type I or Type II sound level meter with weighting set at “A” and response set at “slow” except any activity that is sponsored by the city or the department of parks and recreation or authorized by permit issued by the city"

I share that information simply because many people come to Hawaii to get married thinking they can "just get married on the beach" and because if you can comply with all those restrictions parks are by far the most affordable venue we've got out here in a market that caters to destination and luxury weddings.

One really cool venue we have here in Honolulu is the Ho'okupu Center. It's a green facility, you get a discount if you use their in-house catering (which has an incredible menu and is locally sourced, mostly farm-to-table) that for guest counts around ours is still cheaper than most other base prices for venues out here. It's waterfront and basically a big open air pavillion with doors on the side. The main downsides are that you can only book up to a year in advance and it's in Kewalo Basin, so there are a lot of homeless people in the parks nearby and often in the parking lot before you get to the center.

Peer space is also a great idea. My husband and I are having our wedding at the Resort we are staying at for the week. We are paying 650 for 8 hours. Amazing I know!!! With a prep Kitchen a reception area and a second room for either a kid space or a changing space. We are super excited, and they have a garden BOOM! Ceremony space our guest will have to stand but the ceremony will be less than 10-15 minutes. I feel so bless. I was so overwhelmed with all of the details, we went on vacation, and I just so happen to ask about meeting spaces and the lady said yeah, we do right upstairs!!! MIC Drop!!! Venue under 1000 dollars is possible. Also staying there was not necessary.

The fact that you don't know that VFW is "veterans of foreign wars" is really shameful. They're only responsible for the freedoms you enjoy every day, but that's fine.

My sister got married at the top of a ski resort. It was free as long as they didn't use the deck. Some of the guests had to purchase a ticket to ride the lift, but without skis or a snowboard, it was very cheap.

The reception was at a neighborhood community center. Since my dad lived in the neighborhood, it was $200/ day. So she rented it for 2 days to have plenty of time for cleanup. It was a beautiful little building.

FH and I just decided to ditch our 130-person reception and focus more on US and what we want our wedding to be! Downsizing to an intimate 25-person ceremony with our closest family and friends, followed by an upscale dinner and a party bus! Through this complete 180 plan change, your videos have helped me stay in a positive headspace, especially when it comes to having a smaller budget but wanting all the same things as a traditional bride. I recommend your videos to everyone I know!

Loved this topic! I’m in Vegas, home of the chapel and casino weddings, but locals don’t always want those typical, touristy Vegas venues. I’m always on the lookout for unique budget-friendly places for couples to get married.

We looked at so many venues, and many that were alternative venues.
We ended up having our ceremony at a city owned park/lake, and reception was in an event space above a small art gallery. We paid less than $1000 for both locations.

Our daughter married and had her reception at a town park. Rental was like $100 for the whole afternoon. There was a stage with benches, pavilion, bathrooms, picnic tables, trash cans. The downside was no electricity or kitchen. We had to carry in – carry out every little thing, including soap for the bathrooms. However, it was a lovely spot. That said, an outdoor event in a southern state in the middle of the summer can be challenging. The day was very hot & humid. We missed being able to have fans. As a result, people did not stay long after the ceremony & finger food. Still, it was a lovely spot for a small gathering.😊

We hosted a reception in 2008 at an Italian restaurant. We guaranteed to fill/pay for all 100 seats. The restaurant offered 21:24 two main entrees, fresh flowers on the tables, real napkins and tableware, dessert. Plus a special flaming dessert for the couple. Music was playing in the background ( no dancing room, however). It was lovely. We've heard that they've held other wedding receptions since. We started a trend!
