At 72, I love capris as my legs are my best feature. I think EMPIRE dresses and tops are best. I have to be very careful of tripping if I wear a long dress. Wearing polyester is the worse ever!!

I'm about 35lbs overweight. I don't know if I can where something that cinches the waist bc I'm afraid that will just show off the fact that I'm over weight. You look good in that bc you are thin. Anyone have an opinion on this?
You lost me on the loud prints. I’m all about loud prints especially since I’m about to be 40. I feel they actually make me look more lively and fun. Taking my fashion cues from the ladies of Advanced Style has upped my fashion game

Capri Pants: Merchandising trick to use less material but charge more money. This is done with lingerie; market them as this seasons brightest fad but in truth they are unloading last years items that failed to sell.

When the weather is hot, I happily wear my Capri pants and sandals and don't care if they make my legs look shorter.
Style is personal expression and the first principle is to wear what authenticity represents who you are rather than following the shoulds and shouldn’ts of some random advice from an internet stranger who wants you to blend in to the beige everyone is wearing. Be yourself. PS, clothing doesn’t change your age.

She's just giving well-intentioned advice to older ladies to help them feel younger and beautiful. It's up to you to choose whether to take that advice or not. If you want to look heavy, or heavier, and closer to part of this world, it's your decision. Some people pride themselves on looking distasteful, you can be one of them. It's alright. There is no need to comment about it. We know you can wear whatever you want.

Short shorts might look cool in this case, but they are not always an option. And long pants when it is HOT outside and you have to stay there all day long are even lesser an option!
Same goes for "shapeless" dresses and tank-tops. When it's over 30-35°C anything you wear that stays too close to your skin becomes a problem. The less fabric is around you, not On your skin the better.
And not every person in age has 6 packs to wear a dress with a defined waist comfortably and proudly. Having kids might add to your bottom, and a lot. We're not perfect, this is life.
And there are Multiple bright prints that make you look younger not older IF this is what you want!
