The best advice Iโ€™ve gotten so far for planning our wedding is โ€œremember itโ€™s your wedding day and not a family reunionโ€. We are not inviting a few aunties and uncles as we havenโ€™t seen them for over a decade and my dad is trying to brace me for the drama ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hey, can someone explain this wedding joke to me? I saw this happen in the hall near my brother's wedding reception. A female banquet manager was upset with a caterer, who had signed up for a one-person shift. She said she didn't think he could successfully do the service alone. She was sternly all, "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen. You need someone there to give you instructions and guide you." And then the caterer said, "You know, I'm beginning to see why you manage wedding and receptions." What does his comeback mean? Whats the implied reason?

Thank you so much for this!

We are only a month in and just picked out the venue and the in-laws are already becoming controlling.

(Inviting lots of friends, though we reached our headcount. Taking over the rehearsal dinner even though we already booked a wonderful place by the venue.)

We just donโ€™t know what to do.

My mother told me today, my wedding isn't all about me, its about the hosts and guest and at least trying to accommodate what they like too.

Brilliant advice in this, so much of it is the mindset Iโ€™ve been taking so far ๐Ÿ™‚

So helpful for me and I really needed this. Planning my wedding has been so difficult and sometimes I feel like I'm going to combust

Thank you so much for this video. I have some family members who are thinking its their wedding than mine. I had to cancel my wedding cause of the pandemic, and they cooled off on it. But now I'm planning it myself without them getting involved.

I am very much a people pleaser, and all for etiquette under normal circumstances. However, my wedding is absolutely and most importantly a celebration of my partner and I. So, when the time comes, I will be very forthright about that

I love your vibes and content. Youโ€™re very easy to listen to, and offer fantastic advice.
Just one word of warning if you are in the US, saying โ€œnickersโ€ may not be heard correctly since we donโ€™t use that word. The only word we have that sounds like it is that very nasty word.
I know I didnโ€™t hear it right at firstโ€ฆ
Maybe you already are aware of this, but I just wanted to let you know if not!

I really needed this talking toโ€ฆ especially the part about taking a step back! I honestly end up having nightmares about the smallest things that could go wrong!!

Amazing video as always! I'd like to know your view on midweek weddings, we have to drive 180 miles away (everyone involved in the wedding inc bride and groom as they found a cheap venue up north). The wedding is on a Wednesday so we are travelling the day before and the day after. Is it too much to ask your guests to drive 4 hours and take 3 days of annual leave for a cheaper wedding??

Great advice Lauren. I hate that strong minded brides who know what they want are branded bridezillas!

Another amazing video. I was talking about my dress and my dream is to have a different colour and a family member said to me why can't I be pretty for once in your life and if I didn't wear white and not look pretty at my wedding then I will never look pretty.

Iโ€™m going wedding dress shopping with my mum as she is brutally honest, my sister who knows style and will be honest (bridesmaid). My future mum in law and when she cryโ€™s I know itโ€™s the one. And my future sister in law as she is like another sister (also bridesmaids). Im looking forward to going wedding dress shopping as itโ€™s run by a local hospice where my future husbands grandma was meant to go. Itโ€™s a way to bring her into the day even though I never got to meet her.
