Is this still up-to-date? An updated version would be nice, if not…

Could you make a video on which cards you’d recommend? Kinda overwhelmed and don’t know where to look first

I still don't understand how this works or how to choose the correct card.

We did this! I had a destination wedding in the Dominican republic last year and we strategically opened a Delta card to earn miles for all the expenses we were going to have to pay anyway. All of our expenses had to be paid with credit card anyway because it was a destination wedding. We used our miles to pay for our round trip airfare plus were able to use miles to pay for two other guests who otherwise would not have been able to afford to travel to the wedding! However I can’t stress enough that it is important that you not spend more than you would have in the first place. If you know you are the type of person who is likely to rack up more debt just because you can then this strategy is it for you!

Hi Jamie! I am hoping to get into the wedding industry helping wedding planners with their marketing, branding, and accounting but I have absolutely no wedding experience. How do you recommend I get the experience that I would need to fully understand the industry and be able to help wedding planners grow their businesses? Thanks, I love your channel!

YES! WE ARE DOING THIS!
We are in AUS and are doing this with Qantas – you can use these points accommodation, car hire AND flights. We have calculated we need around 350-400k points to do a multi stop international trip with all flights covered and possibly SOME accommodation reduced.
Important things to note.
Don't spend more than you intended to just for points.
Our annual CC fee is waived because we used the same bank that we have our mortgage.

Essentially we have ALL our bills and expenses on our Qantas Credit card (Australia) so we get points for paying for things we always were going to spend, groceries, petrol, utilities etc.
We have this all auto set-up and budgeted for so 1 x a month it goes out of our bills acc and pays itself off.

We got a sign up bonus 150k points.
We compared other things and also used Qantas for health insurance, home insurance etc and It worked out cheaper or equivalent so we swapped and got big points for sign up and points for the monthly premium(plus it's direct debit of the CC so we get points 2 x points monthly for the premium – win).
We specifically shop at certain affiliate grocery companies – woolworths and BP for petrol which are linked to Qantas and so we get points for every dollar plus points on the dollar for using CC 🤔
Once 13 months is up on this CC we can cancel it. And sign up for a new one in my name (currently it's in my fiancees name but I am a signatory so I get access and a card and by swapping into my name we can repeat the process and get the 150k sign up again!)

We happened to also be doing some home renovations so of course, we pay on the cc and then pay the balance instantly or at the end of the month.
We are essentially only spending what we have in savings but just want the points.

….yes it could potentially seem annoying to then go through and change all our direct debit details but….free honeymoon 💁‍♀️

Just make sure not to spend more than 30% of your credit limit per month so that it doesn’t lower your credit score. 👍

I already use a credit card for so much. This is pretty smart!

We were able to get our honeymoon flights and rental car paid for by credit card points gained from wedding expenses. I was suspicious at first and very cautious but keeping general credit card smarts (don't spend what you don't have) we were able to do this! Gotta keep yourself responsible but you can definitely take advantage of those benefits

Jamie, or anyone, I need a feedback or advice. My fiancé’s grandma just passed and his mother is really heart broken. Our wedding is less than 7 weeks away. How soon or when should I talk to them about the wedding details and planning if the family is grieving. I feel really sad for what’s happened and I sympathize with them. But is it bad for focusing on my wedding event as I am the only person planing this entire event? My fiancé has a small part in this but it’s mainly me. I have friends who will help me with the decors and day-of-coordinator which would really help. But I just need someone to give me advice on how to approach this situation under unfortunate circumstances. I’d appreciate any feedback.

Don't forget to look for cards with 0% APR for x- number of months!! Give yourself a couple extra months for that savings account to accrue!! 🤑🤑🤑

This is how we paid for our honeymoon flights plus all the hotels we needed for the days before our wedding. We ended up saving ourselves about $2500

Jamie, I love watching your videos so much! I’m a newly engaged and all your videos are full of amazing helpful content! I was wondering if you have any helpful tips for invitations to save some dollars lol. Like canva, vista print, zazzel, minted, or DIY etc. Also, vellum vs paper, what to do and not have to do, like save the dates, rsvp cards etc.

a lot of our vendors only take cash / check. any ways around it?

We are spending 4,000 on an all inclusive vacation to a Beaches resort, wedding is included if you stay 3 or more nights. We're going alone. No need for us to spend money on others to drink and party. We want to spend it on us. Plus we save money. Tons. Honeymoon and wedding in one!

Sadly, I have found that most of my vendors won't allow me to pay with a credit card. They even forced me to pay with check or debit. The only bigger ticket item that would allow me to pay with a credit card is my wedding dress.

When did you start putting music in the background? I've watched literally dozens of your videos and this was the first time I noticed… super distracting for me. Ultimately had to turn it off.

I know a lot of vendors charge extra % but you don’t have to just use it for vendors to get the rewards. I plan on paying for it for everything that would be taken out of my account normally: gas, groceries, bills that allow credit cards, animal food, smaller things for the wedding like decor and gifts. I’ll pay it off right after since I’ll already have the money in my account for it. Works just the same

My vendor charges 2% more if I use my credit card. So if u find credit card that will give more than 2% with a bonus that’s good.
