I think 24mm + 50mm + 135 mm. Also a good combination of primes. It also should cover all possible scenarios.

I'm thinking I will be shooting with canon 5D mark iv with 30 L lens and canon r6 mark 11 with 2.8 70-200 L lens. First time in a church. I have done several in the outdoors

Thanks James. Nice summation. I use the sigma 35, sigma 50, canon rf 85f2, canon 70-200 viii, canon 100 macro ef, canon 135 ef
I think that’s plenty for just two camera bodies lol

24-70/2.8 plus 100/2.8 for macro and portrait, that's all I need… I own 35/1.4 but must say I shoot to often on f/2-2.8 so zoom is mostly mounted…

Can you please let me know your aperture settings on taking 8-10 people for portrait?
I'm using 5-5.6 and even if I have flash I feel that the picture sitll grainy.

I can't see my self shooting at 2.8 for Group shots.
BTW im using eos R

Hi! I use the sigma 35mm 1,4 on my R6, and I notice that the exposure is different than on any of the other lenses I use. I would have to change the exposure to +2 to get the same exposure as I get with other lenses on 0. Do you have the same issue? Or do you know why it is happening?

Great video!

Zoom lenses are always softer than primes. Toss that 70-200 and get a 135 or 200.

Nice video! But now I'm absolutely lost.. Maybe somebody can help me out? I shoot on Canon 2000D, I have two lenses: EF-S 18-55 mm IS II and EF 75-300mm III-lens. I am looking at some new lenses: Sigma 150-600mm 1:5-6.3 DG OS HSM, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM or Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN ART Sony FE-Mount. Does anyone has some tips?

Hi James, nice video. I am R6 shooter, and I think 24-70mm F2.8 suit me better to replace 24mm and 35mm prime. Go for 3rd party Tamron G2 or Sigma Art, IMO. While for 85mm and 100mm mavro, I totally agree. Your views, pls.

Brought vs bought.

You bring something. You buy something.

So you’ve bought these lenses, not brought them :p

Good video, enjoyed seeing some of the shots and the differences with the different lenses. I've been asked to take my camera along to a friend's wedding to take some of the photos particularly in the evening. I have an aps-c camera rather than full frame so for that reason would you suggest the 24mm over the 35mm because of the crop factor then making it closer to the 35mm? I am also on a budget but realise I need better lenses than I currently have so am looking at the second hand market but I'm also wondering if because I'm on a budget should I consider the sigma 18-35mm f 1.8? I saw your review of that lens as well and it seems like a great buy and maybe more flexible; especially given you said you normally shoot at f2 to f2.8 most of the time so I wouldn't need that extra f0.4 that would come with the 24mm.

I'm doing sigma 24mm 1.4 on one body, and 70-200mm 2.8 II on second body. Only problem is when you try to carry them all day on your neck, tends to be a tough task…

Nice info, i just consider how about sigma 24-35mm f2? Do you think will be better that lens then have two prime lens 24mm f1.4 & 35mm f1.4?

good collection. but if you hoping to jump in to the weddings you must have a 24-70 2.8.

Not bad! I do own that 85mm myself because the proximity to f/1.2 is negligible and the added IS is a nice bonus. I will say that having the zoom Trinity is also a lifesaver because of the versatility of having glass that can capture the moment as opposed to risking missing the shot when you’re reaching for a prime from your bag. All in all, great recommendations.
