Why not using flash power to light the scene instead of high ISO? I'm not being smart, this is actually a genuine question. Also, how do you figure the right ISO for different scenarios? Please help or direct me to the right source. 🙏 thanks

Can someone do a video or have any advice for a less than glamorous situation. I have photographed 2 events lately and the table decorations consisted of a basically some tall squiggly twigs and a few tea candles. I really struggled. If I got the vases, the table looked bare and if I got the tea candles the vase was cut off…

I never have time to set flashes on tripod and do all these, time is super limited when I arrive to the reception people start to walk through , I guess I ll have to hire another photographer

Hi @vanessa joy' I just came across your video. It's awesome! It answered some of my wedding photography questions before.

Though I still have some question here. I just wanted to know what camera mode do usually use in an evenT? Do you advise using Manual mode with Auto ISO?

I felt "sometimes you need to do the whole room in 5 minutes or less" 😓

Quick question Vanessa. By the way, LOVE your video. Do you use Auto Iso or do you choose your own ISO? and if so, how do you know what Iso to choose. Thanks in advance

Should gel your flashes. That "warm background" look is hideous.

Does anybody know what her on camera flash is called?

As professional photographer you should have talked more about those flashlight accessories, but great video 🙂

Your backgrounds seem very warm and yellow, have you used gels to correct this?

You do almost exactly what Denis Reggie does and he has been giving me lots of little tid bits of advice here and there. Thing is, I'm not "rich enough" to afford a full frame so all I coud upgrade to was a Canon 77D and I still have the Canon 580EXII speedlight. So would ISO 3200 and F stop 3.5 or 4 get me where I need to go for about everything? I guess I would have to do a FEC in a larger room, right?

How are you avoiding camera shake when shooting at 1/80 shutter speed?

Reply
@silvergts1998 12 October 2024 - 3:24 pm

Now a days, most photographers focus on this more than the people. Getting images posted on prominent magazines? Photographer ego thing that magazines prey on so they can get free pictures to promote their business. This is the part of weddings I hate…it's all about the details rather than the people.

@eyebeebak 12 October 2024 - 3:24 pm

How do you get images so sharp with most shutter speeds under 1/160? that's amazing.

Hi. Please Please can you make a video on shooting bridal parties. I just started out and it was extremely difficult to get people to do what I wanted them to do, like standing still for 3 seconds

Noticed you are using on camera flash. (?).

@KeithG75 12 October 2024 - 3:24 pm

Prophoto are over priced speedlights, unless you're sponsored to use them they make zero sense for work like this. Simple TTL speedlights, many of which have Hss, like Godox, do the exact same job for a fraction of the cost.
