I know that people talk about back up your content, use cameras with dual card slots. To be honest i have never lost data and done thousands of videos 10,000s of photos. I think there is a bigger risk of you deleting them by mistake, so i do agree back up once you shoot the content.
Your so right about the client experience.
Albums yes, photos look so much more expensive than digital on a phone.
Would you rather recieve a SD card or a Album as you end product?
