Me watching for 20 min and still not getting past the first step–

Simplified:
1. Tie a loose knot
2. Tie another loose knot
3. βFlipβ the 2 knots upwards
4. Cris-cross the 2 loose strands over each other
5. Tie a hair elastic around the whole thing
6. Gently tug on a few strands
7. Tie the 2 small loose strands together and tuck underneath the bun
Optional: Curl front strands

That is just gorgeous! For all the people in the comments saying that their hair is too thin and silky, try using a texturing powder. It's a miracle product! Sprinkle on the scalp and backcomb the section. Stays like that basically until you wash it out.

Steps
1. Separate hair into left and right
2. Right section over left, tie the hair into a know
3. Repeat above
4. Flip up
5. Cross remaining hair around bun
6. Put elastic

I notice there are several stops/starts in the video. That must be where you get help. I've tried and tried this but my arms get tired and my hair will NOT smooth out. So as much as I wanted this to work, it just won't. You are gorgeous and so is your hair.

Forget trying to pull pieces out softly. Hands on top of head, shimmy side to side, loosens whole area and lays much nicer. Got my part covered just enough. Thanks for a bun that works on my slippery thick hair! My hair spits bobby pins. Up to 30 last time in tears from the headache. I can let this one fall out and just redo it. Stab a pretty spike in if need be.
