the holy grail of bird photography 😛
What about overheating? It seems that this mirrorless suffers terribly from it
Just got the A7iv and 24 + 85 f/1.4 GMs. Would the 35-150 be a better option than the 70-200 GM II ? The latter of course not being as wide – how is the IQ compared on these two?
Useless review!
Does it have different types of subject recognition for tracking? Like can it recognize cars and birds and dogs? If it can, does it switch between those automatically, or do you have to set it in a menu first?
Love how dry and to the point you are 😂 it actually kept me interested.
what would your recommendation for professional use between the fuji xt4+fuji 16-15 2.8 or Sony a74+sigma 24-70 2.8 art lens? Hope you respond as I am very much confused between the two.
what do you prefer z6ii or a7iv?
No longer in the Nikon camp?
I don't understand, the full day workshop in Portugal this week is in person? And free to members? Where can I sign up?
No need to care about colors when u edit everything in black and white 😉
I know I know, color is subjective and you're in control with raw. But as someone who owns all 3 systems altogether. I much prefer to shoot things with my Nikon and Canon. Yes you're in full control, you can grade a video, you can do anything to make a AWR raw file look just as good. But you forget the point that it actaully will take a lot more to get there compared to Nikon and Canon. I do not own any F mount or EF mount premium primes and I don't think it is the right time now middle of nowhere to invest on those. So I sticked with sony as I have the most number of G master primes in my collection. But you can bet it the moment Canon and nikon have their Z mount and RF mount quality 1.4s up I'd ditch sony in a heart beat. No camera can produce SOOC shots that are immediately perfect to me among the 3 brands. But Canon and Nikon's raw only takes a few notch here and there in lightroom and that's it I can fully trust the entire day's folder to look the same good. While for sony raw files I have to make a couple rounds of batch processing and still check each image to make sure I don't get too much north from reality. And some shots really needs to be developed in photoshop. That is my whole beef with the Sony system.
But then again, now that you're in this system, I strongly recommend you to give the Batis line of primes a try. I honestly like most of them over my G master counterparts. My GM gives me lower ISO number that is the only advantage they have.
If only it fit in my hands. Unfortunately my long skinny fingers rub against the lenses.
You have a spare sony body or just the one?
Thanks again! Hugs from Portugal
i was gonna switch to sony but then i came accross to a very cheap canon r6 got it for Aud2.7k for a less than 1k shutter count and took the chance considering i got canon lenses already. Did i had a deal or missed my chance of switching? I kinda like it tho not gonna lie how good R6 system is with IBIS and autofocus. ergonomics are nice aswell. i got that quick video record button aswell. 20mp but photos are very sharp like its not a 20mp considering it got the 1DX II sensor.
Thanks Taylor – also cant wait for the new Tamron 20-40mm, it pretty much covers my working primes.
I love your dry sense of humor. Great vid 😀
Canon r5 or Song A7iv
The red dress is so regal. What a stunning wedding…
nice review. do you have tutos explaining your settings for photo and video (C1..C4, BBF vs half press, focus type like expanded spot tracking,…) and how you proceed on site for tracking in photo and video ? I am now always using EVF with expanded spot tracking in photo with eye detection in case there is an eye. For video, i struggle alot because no tracking in EVF yet. the orange tactile tracking cross in relative zone is tricky in EVF mode. the tracking on LCD is not sharp for flowers, car videos. EVF is sharper.
It’s crazy that we’re at a point where there’s a new mirrorless camera and no one even talks about autofocus anymore. It’s just expected that it’s good.
I've been using fuji, but as I'm starting to go hybrid, I like to know….Is the a7iv straight out of camera colour some what useable? In situation where clients want quick photo for their story or to share with their family/friends
That lens is straight 🔥 on my A7III & RIII!
I find with many things that you like and dislike about a camera I often agree. Thinks like having a direct butting to start recording with.
I did find it strange that you preferred the r6 over the R5. I personally LOVE how I can press the record button on the R5 while in photo mode. I have both. The R5/6. And the R5 is just amazing in every way. The latest firmware update was a game changer as I can no longer get the camera to over heat in 4K/60.
Thanks for the straight to the point review my man.
Assigning the metering wheel to ISO is such a nice tip , this video is refreshing , informative , locations are epic , your color grading is just top notch ( even the lot used for this video although it's a bit reddish for my taste , hut still lovely ) thank you for sharing your knowledge, keep doing what you are doing
lol he started petting the carpet
Hey Taylor would you mind doing a video on your settings for the A7IV. More specifically your auto focus setting during different parts of the wedding day. I watched one from Magic and it was pretty good. I'd love to see what settings you use on your wedding day to get the most out of the A7IV! Great video today, as always !!
DID YOU JUST SPILL THE BEANS A NEW 85 IS COMING?! Dont play with me like that. Theyve needed to update it for ages.
I have 2 A7ivs, one with two V90 cards, one with two V30s, I honestly can’t notice a difference with speed for hybrid
So I used this camera for about 10 weddings and a few commercial video shoots and it was incredible all around. Shortcut buttons really make this a productive and efficient tool. Personally though I didn't really enjoy using it and I didn't find it's image quality to be enough better than other cameras to warrant the price. So it's back to a Lumix gh5 for video and an XT-3 for photo. Both cameras produce amazing imagery straight out of camera and are also super simple to use
Id be interested to see how you setup your camera/ settings you prefer for your Sony. Just a video idea🤓
what about autofocus perfomance in low light?
I was considering switching to the Sony a7iv from canon r5 because of the limited and expensive lens selection that the canon has. But I am just considering the colour science, do you think that the Sony a7iv is good enough for fashion photography and portraits?
Go buy my luts and course.
The rug😄 for wedding highlight videos with the Sony a7iv would you go for the MacBook M1 pro 16gb ram or is 32gb ram necessary?
Why the switch?
Thanks as always for your great videos, Taylor! One question. How did you deal with distortion with this lens? Was it something that kept you thinking about it while shooting?
I rented one recently for a wedding and it was wonderful, I’m glad you mentioned the sunny monitor option! That was one of my only complaints.
Does the Canon R5 switch to video mode from photo mode as quickly as the A7 IV?
I really would like to see how you edit a ISO 10.000 picture and how it comes out , as my comfort zone for this camera is at max. ISO 6400. What's your secret sauce?
Did you try to underexpose heavily to avoid higher iso values?
Thank you in advance and also for the video ❤️
Hey Taylor i am also nikon user and your adjustments are same like nikon same dials like nikon 📸😊
Hey Taylor I had a question… I recently switched from nikon to sony a74 and I'm loving it. But i see grains in my video when I'm over 4000 iso. Is there any way to reduce it?
