The bride should be ashamed for having them try on a dress that she knew her “best” friend couldn’t afford. Not telling them until after doesn’t make it any better. Selfish move not very classy
I offered every bridesmaid to pay for her dress and DID. Most of them chose to pay me back but i had planned to pay because it's NOT FAIR to make a girl pay 200 for a dress shes ONLY buying for your wedding.

In that situation, either the bride or the 2 income bridesmaid who was dismissing the $100 extra cost should have simply said, "I'll cover whatever it is over the agreed upon $200 maximum with no worries, hon." Drama averted. I'm the low income friend so I KNOW how that feels…and they leave you out to dry and make you say it instead of offering to help.
Why didn’t the bride pay for all the dresses? I don’t think the bridesmaid should pay for a dress that they didn’t choose and would never wear again. I paid all my bridesmaids dresses+ alterations. It was not cheap, but oh well

I made my wedding dress. The multisize pattern also had a bridesmaid dress, so we had complimentary dresses. We paid for all the material for all the dresses. There was also enough material left to made drawstring bags so we could put things in. I think i had lipstick in mine. My sister's had sanitary products!
Second wedding / marriage at 25 with two children already!
I just finished watching another episode where the bride just wouldn't respect the bridesmaid's religious beliefs and lost her as a bridesmaid's and possibly even as a friend. I'm glad to see a bride respect her bridesmaids enough to realize that friendship is more important than a dress
Here’s an excellent compromise idea for all bridesmaids who can’t afford expensive bridesmaids dresses get a cheap excellent professional bridesmaids dress maker or even make your own bridesmaids dress with your own sewing machine

Over $300 for a plain looking bridesmaids dress that you dont get to choose, will only wear once and probably cost less than $100 to make is insane☠️
I dont get it, i was always under the impression that if you as the bride ask THEM to be in YOUR wedding, you should pay for the bridesmaids dresses! Thats how I did it 🤷♀️
Never understood why bridesmaids should buy their own dresses, where I'm from the bride buys them. You ask them to be bridesmaids, so why should they pay?
Why try on dresses out of budget?
I realise this is shot to make 'good television' but it says nothing admirable that the bride and entourage let that poor woman go through that experience and it didn't occur to anyone to offer financial help. Ms dual income, happy to fork out 300 plus, but won't suggest pitching in to help out someone else! You don't have to be friends to know that you have the means to make a difference. The bride annoys me, banging on about understanding and having been there – if you have why aren't you setting an affordable limit?
I felt so bad asking my bridesmaids to spend so much. I also had a couple of friends who had a lower budget, but one was an awesome seamstress as well as my mom so we bought the fabric and made all the dresses 🙂 it only cost everyone $55 and they looked great
Why are bridesmaids expected to pay for their own dress anyway? The bride asks them to be part of the wedding and then they're expected to fork out money for someone else's day and choices? so strange to me
Look I hate to be that person but if you can't afford it just say you can't be a bridesmaid. You can't expect the bride to cover the cost when they have a whole wedding to pay for.
I can't believe young women in the US get married so young. Second wedding at 25! Phew!
I don't understand these budgets. That's just such a high price to pay for a dress and not fair for a bride to require from her friends! I had my sisters as my bridesmaids. And I bought my youngest sister's dress at a thrift store for $3.75!! My other sisters found dresses on Amazon for under $50 each. And they were all absolutely perfect!
Am getting married in 10 months , and I got my bridesmaids dresses on Amazon and I made sure the dress was under 75 dollars so all my girls could afford it. Some make more than others but one is a teacher and I even asked her what was a comfortable price range for her and she told me 120 so I really wanted to be way under in case she wanted shoes too.
