I had an experience with the same type of environment—white ceiling, walls, and hardwood floors. But when I used the same settings you mentioned, I was getting an unusually yellow color and dark exposure. Do you have any idea what might have been wrong?

And if the reception is in the evening that room will have warm lighting, requiring you to CTO the flash and use a similarly warm WB … if you want your subjects and ambient surroundings to work together.

To be honest? I do not like the pictures. With this perfect room. Why use the flash?

@photographer8486 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am

I am learning photography.
I bought used Sony a7s2.
New 28-75 f2.8 lens
I need to get my first flash.
I want it to be portable and lightweight so I can take it with me while travelling.
I will be doing street photography and portraits/people.
Please suggest if I should go for on camera speed light or off camera strobe.
And what flash model do you suggest?

Im just starting into photography with flash just in this 2 months.. i never thought that anything like small space and white ceiling/wall could be a main role to have a nice picture

Reply
@global001 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am

No need for the magsphere. The flash bounced of that white ceiling. Tip to even better lighting, take the magsphere off and direct your flash 45 degrees to a wall, and get nice side softbox lighting going on.

Iso 800 vs 100?

@kennymccormick8295 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am

Amazing? Average at best.

@samueljames5167 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am

You would be better off using the little foamy thing on your flash in this reception room.

Reply
@alicevill2259 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am

Depends in camera …

Reply
@samueljames5167 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am

I'd rather use a Rogue Flash Bender. It's lighter, and more creative options if you know how to also bounce flash. the magsphere just sends light all over which isn't a good thing in my humble opinion.

Hi. I will be photoshooting my friend’s wedding and im a beginner. I’m so confused about what light gear to buy because the ceremony is going to be in a restaurant which is up in the sky with a scenery box all with mirrors and i have to be shooting against the big windows. What do you suggest I should buy?

Reply
@SabrinasStudio 20 October 2024 - 2:30 am
