We were married many years ago, and we did it inexpensively. We created our own invitations with a kit from Target (which got so many compliments); I bought my wedding dress on sale; my dear friend made my veil for me, including some beads from HER veil on the bottom of mine; our wedding party and guest list were small; and we had cake, champagne, and hors d'oeuvres at our late afternoon reception. It was lovely, simply, and sophisticated — and inexpensive! You can have a lovely, memorable wedding without spending tens of thousands of dollars. Enjoyed your video! I hope this will help people celebrate and create memories without all the debt.

My friend had a fake polystyrene wedding cake which looked great on pictures and cheap cut out pieces for guests to eat which was cheesecake from supermarket. At first I thought it was strange but why not? It saved them some money. Also hired wedding dress cut the cost down as well.

Love the bridesmaids’ jewelry gift idea! A pretty gold choker was given to me as a bridesmaid gift years ago. I still wear it and think of the bride and wedding every time I put it on!

Never have an "open bar"! That was our biggest wedding expense.
