Should you mix formal and informal Kilt styles? What is the Rock & roll look?
Is it proper to use formal Highland dress for casual wear?
Can you combine “formal” kilt accessories like a PC jacket, Sheriffmuir jacket or Montrose doublet with more casual items to create a new look? Well, sure. The question is whether or not that will be a good idea.

I think it could, but it completely depends on your vibe, try it on in front of a mirror, uf it feels/looks right, go for it, if not, try again
I am in a band and I agree with you guys. I wouldn't do the GF shirt with that. Though I do take lots of liberties with my outfits.
When it comes to kilt fashion. You guys are doing an amazing job.
Brilliant advise every time.
Just the vest , sleeveless shirt and steel toed or punk boots … I'd think the jacket would be too formal to rock it; unless ; you cut the sleeves off and go shirtless … and youd need a mohawk and bling with that lol
Looking to get a great kilt, but not a fan of high socks/hose.
What’s the name of that shirt style, guy next to Rocky ?
👍

When i heard this question the immediate picture that came to mind was from the time before you guys were born, of the Beatles/Hendrix era where they used either military or psuedo-military dress tunics. In the pyschedelic age it worked great as a stage image but I thought it was a bit too much for an everyday look but I was an army cadet back then so very conservative tastes. I agree with your point but I guess if it was me wanting that band look I would go for an Argyll with chrome buttons rather than a Sheriffmuir. (I own both)
Hi. I bought a great kilt from you guys and loved it. Can’t wait to buy my next
