Public speaking … gah! Truly a love-hate relationship. The best toasts come from the heart so BE YOURSELF! I hope this video helps you through your writing woes. Do you think you can keep it to 5 minutes??
This is so helpful, as few hours from now I will be giving my speech at .my Son's wedding 💑 . Thanks for the tips bro.
Totally agree with this.
I need to take this approach to my vows also.
Edit: wait gotta go watch vow video now. Whoops
It is very true! I have seen this happen so so many times. Luckily I have trained as an interpreter and was shouted up for not being candid lol especially when it was scripted and written in front of me. I will be writing it out to get all my points out (as I am doing mine bilingually). But on the day I will 100% only have bullets (probably in one language only so it isn't overwhelming) as that is truly the best way to go (also shouted out by my interpreting teachers when we read straight off a page). It makes you a better public speaker. Don't speak to your paper 🙂
Thank god for this. My best friend's wedding is in October, so I need the help. That being said the wedding party is 4 people each side and they expect everyone to say something. It feels a little silly to toast after every single speech of 10 people (once you get parents in there), thoughts?
This is actually a great discussion. A lot of people do the high points of keep it at a certain time, not solely scripted/off the cuff, talk about both partners etc but most don't think about the intro and not making it about them with the I met, I knew etc.
"'And then one night, we went down to the O'Reilly's' … it's an auto parts store, not a bar or anything" I died 🤣🤣
Unique perspective and I'm really glad you shared it! Great advice.
I’m here to help the algorithm and say Great video! I really did find this very useful.
I love this for those who at my wedding could be giving a speech, but tend to have challenges speaking in front of people. For instance, my mom. Love my mom to death, but she is definitely not one to speak in front of people. When it comes time, I'll share this with her, and anyone else giving speeches to help them out. Esp. for those I know struggle with giving speeches.
