The lapel is too thin, in addition to every other thing that has been pointed out in the comment section

Dinner trousers never have belt loops and an exposed button, always a hook & eye system and a proper dinner shirt always has studs. Always wear a waist covering i.e. a cummerbund or a waistcoat.

If he wore nothing, he would be more correct than he is now.

Okay so there are a few errors to this outfit 1: you should tie your own black bow tie not wear a clip on or pre-tied model. 2:you should wear cufflinks with your tuxedo shirt not barrel cuffs as this is more casual not formal 3: your tuxedo jacket is too light so I recommend getting it in black or midnight blue or even navy that is unless you are doing a Ivory dinner jacket or if you want something in red I'd recommend going with velvet 4: you should wear studs with your tuxedo shirt as this makes you stand out from the crowd and it's some extra jewelry 5: your shoes should be made out of patient leather in the style of either a Oxford or a opera pump (a patent leather black dress shoe with a silk bow tie) also in case you're not wearing anything underneath that jacket I really recommend a cumberbund or an evening waistcoat which is a waistcoat with a deeper cut then a normal waistcoat, hope this helps.

This video is factually incorrect: pants incorrect, need black oxfords or pomps, cummerbund/waistcoat, and everything @arthurwellesley1815 said

Wrong jacket Wrong shoes

Black oxfords and single button jacket or double breasted jacket 6 on 2 or maybe 4 on 1

Why he always shaped like a pear…that slim fit isnt flattering nor the pants. A slightly more relaxed fit will make you more presentable and you can move around in your suit or tuxedo all day. Right now your just waiting for it to get ripped from different areas💀

I’m not gon lie bro, I support you as a brother but you consistently get EVERYTHING wrong. This”hip” suit stuff looks bad (especially the tight ahh pants) You need to make it clear that your videos are more for fashion than traditional/classic/timeless.

This is NOT black tie AT ALL.

Must have studs and cufflinks. That purple jacket makes you look like a clown. Black and white only for a tuxedo.

Hello Sir ! Surely you’re filled with good intentions, but there are a few mistakes here that could potentially lead people in the wrong direction when it comes to tuxedos

Firstly, the jacket

– If it is single breasted like yours, it must have only one button, never more (unless it’s a double breasted one)

– Then, the pockets, always jetted, never flaps as it disturbs from the clean and sober line that a tuxedo should have

– when it comes to the button up shirt, you’re currently wearing a regular white shirt with barrel cuffs. Again, never (unless you’re Charles III)

– You can either have a hidden fly (shirt where one cannot see the buttons), or a pleated front or Marcella bib front with studs (ideally three, but one more is fine)

– For the cuffs, always French, never barrel

Now onto the trousers.

– They must have a satin gallon going all the way down. Otherwise they aren’t tuxedo trousers

– No belt loops, or at least hidden.

Little tip : your waist must always be covered when wearing a tuxedo, either by a cummerbund or a low-cut waist coat

Now for the shoes

– you can either wear opera pumps, patent leather oxfords or wholecut oxfords (you could also make do with cap toe oxfords I guess) with a proper shine and no broguing EVER

– slippers can only be worn if you’re hosting a Black Tie even at home, for they are indoor shoes.

Overall, there are very strict rules to Black Tie because it originally was meant to let the women shine at an event by standardising the men’s outfits.
We surely live in more modern times that allow for more creativity, but perhaps we shouldn’t drift too far away from the basic principles.

Have a good day !😊

If you've seen what they have been doing to tuxedos lately I can appreciate the effort to do better. Formalwear has been decimated over the last few years.

There is so much wrong with this. First of all that’s a regular dress shirt, at tuxedo shirt either uses dress studs or has a hidden fly. A tuxedo shirt also has French cuffs, not a barrel cuff. The trousers doesn’t have galons and has belt loops. The velvet slippers are incorrect, if you don’t want to wear oxfords you’re supposed to wear opera pumps, not slippers. And the jacket is a 2×2 instead of a 2×1 or a 1×1. The jacket also has flap pockets which a dinner/tuxedo jacket isn’t supposed to have. And you’re not supposed to wear a wristwatch with a tux, a pocket watch could be okay but never a wristwatch.
