My diamond is lab grown and so much prettier than real diamonds. Also, I found a dress on Amazon for less than $150 (after shipping). I also used gift cards to purchase my dress. 🙂 My mom and I are making our cake (red velvet with cream cheese icing) along with a dessert table (fall wedding so we are going to have a pumpkin roll for guests). Making my matron of honor's bouquet as well as mine because I love DIY. I would rather make it myself than spend more on a real one. Going to be doing a buffet so we don't have to pay more money for catering. Feels like I've had my wedding planned for a very long time. Hoping to have a beautiful wedding and spend less than $1,500.
I don’t necessarily agree about not having an all inclusive venue. We found one for our wedding that’s coming up in a year and a half and it’s actually very economical. I get that you would want to pick your own vendors to make sure you get along with them. I think it’s important to make sure that you meet the preferred vendors that they have but all in all it can be a pretty good deal.
Tip is also estate diamonds! I picked my setting/stone size and we were lucky enough to have an estate option in exactly what I wanted made with a moissonite. It was cheaper to purchase the estate diamond from our jeweler vs getting the same ring made with a moissonite.
❤
Who else watching this and is single have mo idea when u will be getting married?
❤️❤️❤️
EPIC! THANK YOU!
I'd recommend a cupcake tower- doesn't need to he cut up, is cheaper and people can choose what flavor they like 🤩
I took your advice for buying my dress: bought a dress on a clearance sale for off-rack dresses from a designer who retired 🙂 Cost less than $800 and I love it (it's a little big, but that can be fixed pretty easily)
Ok
Why not have a wedding bar, by consumption, were the severs can bill you, for whatever was drank.
It always saddens me when people just see moissanite as a diamond alternative or cheaper 'diamond'. The story of this gem is beautiful and romantic (moissy we have are all lab created because the gem is actually from a meteorite!). As it's not mined, no social issues, no environmental issues, etc…
I hope it gets more appreciated for what it is. As a gem of its own. ❤️❤️❤️
I really wish the stigma in the bride space about cash bars would just go away. It's super annoying to be made to feel like a bad person if you can't afford an extra 3+ grand on providing alcohol. Even just beer and wine is expensive these days. I do love that many places offer packages to host for x amount of hours making it easier to provide some alcohol to guests, but I've never thought that a bride and groom were poor hosts for not hosting alcohol. Ultimately as a guest, you're there to celebrate the couple and their marriage with them and should be grateful to them for whatever capacity the couple chooses to host.
What is a sweetheart table?!?
This is one of the biggest differences between US and UK weddings that always confuses me. I have never EVER been to a wedding in the UK that had a free bar. Ever. More to the point, I would never expect it- unless it’s a hugely grand wedding for very well off people, 99% of UK couples that I know of have cash bars, and it’s never seen as a tacky thing to do!
Definitely look into alternative stones. I think diamonds are overrated tbh. Yes, they are pretty but I really LOVE emeralds. I know they can definitely be more than diamonds if it's a natural, cloudy one but I like the clear and lab created ones just as much. Those are so much less than a diamond. As for other gems, in looking I found that moissanite looks more sparkly imo and morganite is really pretty too.
Very good tips. Thank you x
I learn so much from you. Thank you
Uhhh…moissanite and lab diamonds are not the same thing.
Your videos have been super useful and reassuring that I'm making good choices in my wedding planning journey! & I know this is an older video, but thanks for sharing <3
Great tip w photographers! We are planning 2-3 hrs of photos. Don’t want reception photos besides our first dance bc like you said, we aren’t hanging those on the wall
Love my Moissanite!
Black girls can’t go without getting their hair done
Too much talking
I'm making my dress, hiring my daughter to make up, still deciding on the number of attendees 🤔 Also Martinelli's is a good alternative. You can get pack of 4 at Costco
I’m doing a 10k wedding with 200+ sooooo
Only printing my invitations for the old school people and my mom and MIL are making the food rice beans and meat only spending 200 on food plus fruits for the chocolate Fountain
This was basically an elimination list of everything I want at my wedding 😭
My entire wedding party is 8 people. 3 girls 3 guys my 2 sons and my friend's daughter.
I tried to save cost by only having a MOH but that didn't go well. It left me and her with no one else to lean on and strained our friendship. I've had to bring other in now.
Jamie, how do you negotiate better rates for a mid-week wedding? Any tips from anyone would be great!
Amazing. Thank you <3
Wish I watched this before

My fiancé and I are saving 1000-2000 dollars by doing everything “off season” we are getting married in March which in PA normally weddings are most popular May-October. Definitely recommend!
