Parliament or executive shouldn't be allowed to appoint judges. If judges are appointed by the government, it will erode the trust of the people from the judiciary as there will be doubts whether the judgements are biased towards the government ! For ex:- in US, the President appoints a SC judge, and thereafter all judgements by that judge seem biased towards the government.

First of all judiciary is not about emotions. Its about only justice to people of the country. So according to me judges should be selected on their merit basis. And even I don't support the reservation system. I only support the merit system as judiciary isn't an easy task as you are thinking
