BEST Light For Wedding Videography – Aputure 60x Review vs Practilite 602

The Aputure LS 60x has dethroned the Practilite 602 as the best light for wedding videography, and it does it for less than half the cost. In this review, I compare the 60x vs the Practilite 602 and share with you how every feature compares.

Hi Matt. I know this video is from 3 years ago. Are the LS60x still relevant today day or could you recommend a newer light with similar features for weddings? Thanks

Hi Matt. I am looking to iNvest on a pair of Aputure 60x's. Do you have any videos or recommendations on tall heavy duty light stands for these lights? Most Ive seen usually go up tp 11 or so. Some venues ghave higher ceilings. Thanks. Love your channel btw!

Do you use any softbox on the 60X light for weddings? It looks very bright and how do you handle shadows without an umbrella or softbox?

We LOVE our 60x so far this year! SO much so, that we got a second one. In regards to battery life, we have found that 2 NP-F970 batteries EASILY last us through a full reception. Mainly, this is because we almost never have to have the light set above 50% power (we average about 30%). I would say 100% the best light for the money.

Beautiful lights… I took your advice and purchased 3 of them… they are my staple lights for wedding reception videos. 🙌Thanks for suggesting these lights.

Does this 60x have any operating noise, like a fan?

Hi Matt, were you able to verify whether the 60x mount is Dedolight compatible or not? I have a bunch of accessories for this mount (M size if I am not mistaken) and it would be great if I could use those with this light as well.

@MrElo 22 October 2024 - 4:47 pm

"cost over half the price" well, in its under I would say "cost under half the price" Unless its more that double the price, in that case I would say "cost over double the price" Hmmm…
Anyway. F*** weddings. Too much stress.

How would you compare this to the Amaron 60x that has most of the same features for $200 less. Seems like the Amaron just doesn’t change its beam angle and looks different

Hi Matt, I bought one 60X recently and yet to use it in a wedding but very impressed with everything about it. In your experience, do you think having a second light up for the first dance would make a significant difference? I'm tempted to add a second but unsure if it'll be worth it. Thanks!

Why going with one of these lights instead of a aputure 120d or cheapest options like amaran 200d. Is there any key difference I am missing?

Apurture 60x half the price of the Practilite. What is your opinion on the new Aputure Amaran 60x? It’s half the price of the Apurture 60x…. I’m wondering what your opinion is about these new Amaran 60x lights for the specific use mentioned in this video for wedding filmmaking. I know that brightness levels are probably way less than these two other lights but I also believe you mentioned that ultimately you use these other lights at a less than full power. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide Matt! I’m trying to find a starter portable bi-color led light for wedding filmmaking that doesn’t break the bank but gets me the best bang for buck and will be able to use for a good while before needing to upgrade or replace.

You can also get a v-mount sharkfin to mount two v-mounts on the light to get double the juice.

@kyleranney 22 October 2024 - 4:47 pm

If you put a little piece of diffusion and clip it to the barn doors, you'll get a lot more spread on the light and because the output is more it'll be just fine.

Would the battery life be comparable with x2 8800mah 65watt np-f batteries vs a 150 watt vmount? Do you think I would get the same amount of running time?
