I had been given the assignment to make a presentation on Chinese traditional Marriage, I actually need to know the difference between the ancient and modern steps of marriage for Chinese people etc
That's uh complicated 😥
Carmen!!! You made this video 7 years ago, but it is new to me😎
I find Traditions so fascinating. BTW, speaking of old content: I loved when you played the most adorable "Cat Woman" and Dan was a lactose intolerant Bat Man. Also the Kung Fu melodrama is another favorite.
it's not swan…is 大雁 that birds fly in sky
I love Asian cultures
Did they ever do any of these other informational videos about Chinese weddings, bc I will watch them all
Too complicated…
I would like to know more about the other traditions during the ceremony and wedding presents 🙂
Chinese wending music
hey even we ( indians ) have this ritual of matching date of birth n time of the bride n groom by the astrologer …
I just love your channel! I am so happy I stumbled upon it. I am a Anthropology student. I have to do a research paper on Traditional Chinese Culture in my Family Kin & Groups class. I was looking for Traditional Chinese wedding practices and found this video. Then I started watching more of your videos. I love them all. I will probably eventually watch them all. I even know what you mean in a lot of them because in Middle School when I lived in California, my best friend was Chinese. We always tried to get paired to do projects together and I would go to her house all the time after school. Her parents were a lot like you describe. Her mom was always making us eat food. I mean talk about afternoon snack. It was like a pre-dinner dinner. I remember we are at the table and she ask how many eggs I want. I said one please. And she put two and said. You eat two. It is good for you. She would always give me double of what I said I wanted. ha ha I was never able to eat dinner when I went home.
Well I would really like to learn even more about Chinese weddings. The rituals. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your culture with the world. 🙂
Its so sad that this doesn't happen much anymore in china cos its all westernised
PLEASE make more!
can you please make a video on the birth date/ 8 letter?
This is literally like my culture (African)
If it is that complicated,i will go with western style.
You should do Chinese birth traditions!! Apparently when I was born my mum didn't wash her hair for a whole month. Please do more chinese traditions/legends, I always learn from you guys!
Always learn from you guys! XD
Your dress is so pretty! 🙂
For some english learners like me, it would be perfect if the video subtitled. Hope u guys can work it out!
What a nice video …
I would like to see a video about the rituals! I love learning about the culture aspects of China. Thanks for your informative videos!
I've been to five weddings during my time in China. I even played a song in one wedding. And in my neighbors wedding, I got to see behind the scenes (from the brides side) b/c she asked to borrow my apartment to help house guests.
I really like your videos!! Can you make a video about Cheongsam?
Chinese wedding is way more than that….. You should do a whole video on the whole wedding procedure, it would take 3 hours to explain…
What about the more modern HK customs of the groom "knocking through the door", where the bridesmaids not only play games and tricks, but requests large sums of money. i.e. $9,999. My poor Caucasian brother-in-law never knew what hit him
Any videos for western women/men on impressing the Chinese parents?
hmm so can ancient chinese farmers that doesn't own anything pass their farm really be able to afford all those stuff o.o!?
talking to fast hihi
can you make a Cantonese version pleaseeee
great information, thank you
The modern version would be great- looking forward to it thanks
Ha. Lucky I am Chinese American. Born in Taiwan grew up in the U.S.
And I've never seen that dress you're wearing Or that highlights in your hair that catch your eyes,
I have been blind
The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, it's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
:p
你好辣妹
I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
Is there a reason why you use only 繁体字 and never 简体字?
Oh yes and please do a Cantonese one lol for those of us that will need to speak it on our wedding day! 😉
This is brilliant! Thank you, although I know a lot of your videos are for comedy, the informative side of them is priceless for me as I am dating a Chinese man and hope to marry him one day and so with me being white I have a lot to learn about Chinese culture and I want to embrace it all and pass it on to my children and these videos help so much! So a BIG THANK YOU! And I hope you are able to make many more for many years to come!
forgot so many things! What about the games (& the 999/all nines rule), the small roasted pig, the bride & groom toasting at every table, the candles, the red umbrella!
wait… what??
