I have been a nightclub and mobile DJ 🎧 since 1981, amassing 43 years of experience.
I regularly visit your YouTube channel and watch your videos, particularly enjoying your gig logs. 🎥 Your content inspires me greatly. 👍
Despite my extensive knowledge and expertise as a DJ, I continuously learn new tips from you and your fellow DJ friends.
Your generation of DJs holds a special place in my heart as you reignite my passion for DJing and motivate me to keep pursuing what I love, regardless of age.
Please continue your excellent work; I am truly proud of you. 👌 Thank you for everything you do. 😁🎵🎶😃
Super awesome video full of so many wisdom nuggets! Your energy and confident mic voice is too notch🫡🫡🫡i really enjoyed your stems mixing style 🫡🫡🫡aoooo smooth
Cheers, @Rachel Lynch! I'm a fellow Connecticut based DJ. Thank you for this video. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the tips. Do you have a particular music bed you like to use?
Fantastic Gig Log!! Nice Clean Setup
Rachael, gig wise how much do you use your Evolves vs your other speaker sets? Just curious. Great vid as always. You are amazin! ♥
The “shhhhh” crowd line is brilliant!
Thanks Rachel always a pro. Hey I tried those wireless 2.4G at a wedding and they totally embarrassed me with dropouts from only 15ft away but I glad they work for you especially at that distance in your video. We both know the feeling when a mic drops even for a split second during a ceremony, our hearts jumps LOL.
But did you check the reach of the EV 50's when folks were standing/dancing? It blocks a lot more sound that way.
Thank You Rachel this was a great wedding video !
Rachel I am a big fan of your channel I love the way that you did the games for the newlyweds very very professional and well controlled you are one of the best female DJs and wedding DJ that I know again congratulations on your success and hope to see many many video blogs of you😊
what do you record these video on? iPhone 13 … 14 and for the reception portion do you use a tripod with your camera?
I've done the Turn down for what to either Dancing Queen or Never gonna give you up and it always works, so fun watching people's reaction to it lol.
All of these tips are super helpful! Thank you for sharing! One question is do you feel it’s necessary to tell what the names of the songs are for the first answers? That feels like an old outdated wedding DJ technique. I’ve never told the names of the songs. But maybe that’s something I’m missing.
100% affirm totems would detract.
150% your mixing is amazing.
200% on the shoe game. Great commentary and sounded so natural. I struggled with that.
For formal dances: I always have a plan of 2 min etc. – all discussed and planned ahead of time.
Thanks so much for putting yourself out there for us DJ junkies to discuss. So insightful and fun!!!!
I will be doing my first wedding, a vow renewal, on Saturday. I am very much learning to talk on the mic, and become more loud clear and confident. Also I'll need to figure out how long to play each of the special dances in the beginning. Obviously not the whole song.
I totally agree with your statement “Having a music bed makes things sound more professional, and polished”, that’s why I never have dead air. Something is always coming out of the speakers, especially when opening the room and during intros.
Always look forward to your videos Rachel , and like they all said in the comments we always learn something new from you , you are amazing , Thank you !!
Thank you, had a wild experience when a video photographer put a wireless microphone on my wireless microphone. Yes, it had interference, and I could not figure it out until I saw what had happened. GRRRRR always something.
You have it dialed in…a pro's PRO!
If you can run a cable, you should run a cable. (bring a backup) just in case
I wish I was an American ! LOv France but so nice in the States !!
Rachel , I love your work. Your preparation, MC work, your gear and beat mixing skills are flawless. You have the complete package
Thank you Rachel, you must have been eavesdropping on my call last week (LOL). We just incorporated this game along with two others for a wedding next week, and you gave me an idea how streamline these games with the reception. DJ RACHEL for the win!!!
First: “If you can run a cable, you should run a cable” will be my next tattoo. 2nd, your song selection and mixing is top notched- seriously blown away by your skills, lastly a question. How do you not get blocked by YouTube for playing copyrighted songs? I had to remove all of the songs from my last video although it was all recorded off my GoPro. In any case, thanks for video and seriously- you rock.
