Thanks so much! I'm having issues with my dress designer wanting to do things with my dress that I have repeatedly told her no AND our venue coordinator has left the venue and her replacements is the worst with replying to emails and answering questions. Going to use this video as I can't fire either vendor as it's only 3 months out from the wedding and they're isn't the tine to replace them.

Thank you. I had to do this today and articulating the problem in advance was critical to being able to handle the situation with dignity for both sides.

Here 2 years after you posted this video and it was so helpful! Read through the contracts thoroughly and found everything okay. Fast-forward, I learned from another bride they are getting different treatment than I am… so we're done.

What about situations when it's too late? When the event already happened and they sucked! How do you ask for a refund or just provide feedback? I don't want bad karma but I also want to warn other Brides and Grooms. Thank you for your content!

Had to fire the woman doing my stationary when I realised 'her design' was actually a stock Canva template, yikes. Lost my deposit but luckily this was the first draft and the deposit was only £50. It's funny because she's pretty well know on Instagram with a lot of followers and does wedding stationary for a living, but should have gone with my gut and not used her :/

Jamie over here saying "I hope you never need this material" when I'm about to use it to fire a second florist for not meeting expectations of communication

First off, your videos have given me much clarity and have made me vary prepared in the planning process.
We are having our vow exchange at an all inclusive venue. We had a selection off three different florist and we made the wrong choice. Our fear is the venue is locked in contract, and since we love our venue and venue manager, we’re at a loss of what to do because we don’t want to cost our venue any money. What do you suggest?

Just fired our day-of wedding coordinator and I felt such a relief after doing so, despite losing the 50% deposit. We had spoken on the phone once, and exchanged about 5 e-mails before I signed a contract with her. I was nervous that she didn't have much of an online presence and I only read a few reviews, but she was more affordable ($1250) than other quotes I was getting (some other quotes were $2500-4400 for day of coordination), so I took a chance. Then she met us at a venue walk through, and her personality was SO different from what I expected. She was intimidating, direct, cold, didn't smile, didn't try and get to know me or my fiance' and didn't have a warm or friendly personality like I recalled her having from the phone. It felt like a bad, awkward first date and didn't feel comfortable talking to her. I realized I'd probably be happier if we worked with someone whose personality we vibed with better. I sent her an e-mail letting her know my thoughts and she said she was shocked and disappointed, but would release our contract but would not refund any part of our deposit. Our wedding is 13 months away, so other than those e-mails and attending one venue tour, she didn't do much for us, and we have plenty of time to find someone new.

I said to my fiance' " I wish Jamie Wolfer could be our day-of coordinator!!!" But we live in Seattle, WA, so booo, so sad.

But lesson learned that I should interview a lot more vendors and pay attention to PERSONALITY and not just get excited about their rates.

What if you two aren't one the same page? Maybe look at multiple locations then try to find a compromise? Thank you so much

I never thought that my wedding planning would be this stressful, especially since my vendors seemed so sweet and driven when I met them. The person who was supposed to be there on my wedding day, basically the "lead vendor", kept ignoring my emails, calls, texts, ect. I would stop by at her office frequently and request to talk to her, but she was always busy and would tell me to reschedule soon but never talk to me. It keeps getting closer to my wedding day which is in early November of this year (2020) but things aren't set in place yet. Many places have cancelled out on me because the vendors wont talk to them (or anyone) It has been so stressful on everyone. I was supposed to have my wedding at this gorgeous church, but the vendor never confirmed it and the deadline passed which means that they let another couple book that day. So much things still need to be planned and now we have to postpone the whole wedding because of lack of time to plan. This video helped me learn that I need to have a voice and show power in my wedding planning process. She will be fired and I already hired a new vendor which I know I can trust because my friends have worked with her before and their wedding have turned out AWESOME!! Thank you so much, Jamie!

Firing my church… the priest won't stop raising the price for the "donation", started at 1,500 now he wants 4K luckily no money down yet and we have plenty of time to find another church, but its stressing me out

I am 9 months away from my wedding and I am starting to feel like I need to change my wedding planner. we are at our 4th attempt to come up with a budget, but there are still huge discrepancies in it. the ceremony is not included, the groom attire, the bride bouquet. on top of that, the percentage allocation is way different than the one recommended by many wedding websites. For instance, the decoration and the flowers alone account for %50 and that's is not including the missing items mentioned above. Any advice? @Jamiewolfer

We are in a pickle of a situation. Our wedding date is set for May 15, 2020 and our venue is MIA. They haven’t recently gotten a brand new team and now we got word that their coordinator has already been let go! I haven’t spoken with multiple couples also having their big day at the venue and they are having the same issues. We can’t afford to lose the deposit (potentially having to pay the full $6000 requirement) and then pay for a whole new venue. I am starting to get worried after speaking with the other couples. Any suggestions on what action to take? Do I start looking for other locations or just let the cards fall where they may?

I wish we had fired our photographer well before the wedding. We noticed all the red flags following our engagement shoot and just kept pushing forward because we paid in full to receive a discount (future brides, please don't do this! It was not worth it in the long run). There was little to no communication between the engagement shoot to the wedding day.. She showed up on wedding day without a second shooter we were contracted, was drinking throughout the event, flirting with groomsmen, and we had to fight tooth and nail to receive our wedding pictures more than 4 months post wedding. All of this could have been avoided with an awkward conversation parting ways at the beginning of planning. Maybe they would like an out on your wedding day as well and are just afraid to say so. Turns out our photographer's husband had just left her and she definitely wasn't in the right place to be shooting happy couples. Doesn't make all she did right, though, since we did pay her a hefty chunk of money.

General rule of thumb; Always have a contract. And continue adding addendums to that contract if you (the client) see fit.

Hey lovely people. This is unrelated to the video but I need advice. It’s predicted to rain on my wedding day and I don’t know where to take my photos! I found the cutest hidden gem park in my town but if it’s raining I don’t know what to do! What would you do???

Yes🙌🏻 we looked at a popular farm venue near us and the owner stated how the previous barn was burned down intentionally and she knew who did it exactly and that this person also called the health board when she threw a super bowl party. It’s like I’m sorry you want me to book with you when you have people who dislike you so much that I’m two years who knows if you’ll have a venue
