Very simple question, with a very simple answer:
Just spend what you can afford.
Expensive weddings are stupid. A party for people you rarely see is dumb. Our neighbors got married during Covid, they were sooo lucky. It was them, a minister and a camera. They live broadcast it to friends and family. We saw them come home from the church all dressed up (we were outside talking to our other neighbors and noticed the dress, we were like WTF?). They screamed, we got married. We cranked some tunes, brought out some beer and had an impromptu party/reception for them. As the tunes cranked and we danced in the driveway, more neighbors joined us. They are still married and we are a closer neighborhood for it. How much you spend on a wedding has NOTHING to do with how successful your marriage will be.
$0 is what we spent. Nice and classy at the courthouse. I feel kind of bad about it, but we didn't have any money at the time.
500 bucks,
🙏🏼👌🏼
Zero Dollars, Justice of the 🕊️ Peace, Annoited by God.
Zoom wedding ????? Wow
Me and my wife got married at the courthouse on our lunch break. $15 wedding 👍. We had a park "wedding" a few months later and spend under $3000 for dress, travel, food.
don't spend nothing for a wedding, there is a 50% chance it will be a bad experience and end in failure.
Spent $5k on our wedding. $3k was the bar tab at a local pub. People still talking about how much fun it was. That was 20 years ago. Neighbors kids did $30k. Were living with their parents. Divorced after a year.
My ex-hubby and I got married at the courthouse, had our closest family and friends there we had our “reception” at our favorite restaurant and we paid I think $350 and for our honeymoon we just spent the weekend in ATL doing touristy things overall we spent around $600-700 for the whole thing and even though we didn’t work out at the end I can say I have NO REGRETS it was the best weekend of life.
No price would be too high if marrying Rachel. 😘.
My brother got married over zoom just like Rachel described! They’re planning on having a great vacation/honeymoon when things get better… eventually.
my wife and I got married on a cruise ship in 2008. The ceremony itself only cost $2000 and it looked like we spent a million. Plus we had an hour and a half open bar.
No need for a wedding. Getting married has no benefits unless you have low income. If you’re making good money, let them live with you, don’t get married, everything yours stays yours and everything theirs stays theirs, you can split food bill because it will help you both out and you won’t get the money back
I would only invite family and close friends and have great tasting affordable food for the guests! Doesn’t have to be fancy and all put that money towards your house or a nice honeymoon vacation
Everyone that I know actually made more on the wedding than they spent. As long as you don’t get too extravagant, the gifts are worth far more than the costs.
Some basic guidelines here: Never have a destination wedding. It’s considered rude because of the costs s time it demands of guests. It also alienated those who can’t travel due to health, costs, or time constraints. Even those that do attend spend so much on travel and lodging that you can expect less in wedding gifts.
Have the reception in the same church hall where the wedding occurs. It makes it easier for out of town visitors to find and saves money too.
Have a D. J. not a live band. You get better quality and a better variety of music along with a lower cost. Some DJ.s also provide lights shows and comedy st the reception.
Don’t have a photo booth unless it’s the vending style found at some malls Typically the machine is dropped off at the reception hall by s vendor, then picked up later. The vendor and the wedding couple each get half the proceeds generated by the machine.
Have a dollar dance where people donate a dollar to dance with the bride or groom. This is a very old tradition that also helps cover the cost of the wedding.
While the purpose of the wedding is not to make a profit, it can easily turn out that way.
My wedding costed $5k and it was solemn and intimate river/garden wedding. No need for a grande wedding. It’s all about relationship and marriage.
spent about 2000-3000 on our country wedding with close family. Saved up about 50k for the house down payment. YOU get to determine what's important in your marriage.
In my small, semi-rural hometown, there are at least four wedding venues in a ten mile radius. People pay big money to get married in a barn, LOL.
Go to your country court, get marriage license, hire an ordained minister and do it in your backyard. Then take everyone to dinner as a thank you. It's what we did and couldn't have been happier. Have to ask yourself what's more important…getting married or being married.
Small and simple is best
just go to city hall and do it for free. put the cash on a property
Got married at a friend's house (no frills, just like we were at courthouse) been married 25 years in July.
Im thinking I want to invite less people and have it be nicer. I dont think I would want to spend more than 20k.
Go to the court house and get married or have a zoom wedding. Large Traditional weddings are a waste of money.
How about get married at a courthouse, have a dinner with close friends and families, and then use the money saved up to go on the honeymoon.
Go to the courthouse and sign the paperwork. Ten years from now, if you are still married, have a big party for friends and family.
I'm never getting married, but I'll have two to three kids.
This guys getting married I’m here at 26 years old looking at Dave Ramsey’s daughter thinking she is hot. Lol
As much as you can afford to be fair. Thanks as always for the awesome videos guys!
Nothing. It is the number one cause of divorce. And that is really expensive 🤣
Save it for the divorce because that will cost more.
" you love her, just get married " Women………
Weddings are a total waste of money.
spent about $6K Got about $6k.
💰THE RAMSEY SHOW💰
Just pay for the marriage certificate and call it a day.
Rachel: Is your dad rich?
Caller: No.
Rachel: Ohh this is a tough one.
