I'm so thankful for you!!!! I started watching your videos this morning, I think this is my 6th one. I stated in another one that my daughter got engaged 2 months ago and set the date for this September. Don't really have the invite list completed but she's thinking around 100-120😳I was thinking around 60😅. The high priority for them is being lit, turnt up. We're going to look at a venue today, $2300, the family has used them before in the past. She likes it for nostalgic reasons(she was in a family members wedding when she was about 5, she's now 24 and it's on the lake)we can have up to 120 but honestly it's an outdated venue especially at that cost. I found a beautiful air BNB venue on the lake but 60guest is the limit but it's half the cost. I'm going to pitch a late morning wedding instead of evening and we can do 2 lunch reception and still come out cheaper. An early lunch reception right after wedding for older friends, family and children and evening reception for the bride and groom age group, they can party til late and check out isn't until 11 the next morning. Thank you so much for the idea AND be praying g with me that the pitch is accepted, thanks for all you share.
Sooooo, the venue has been updated (look at God) and the upstairs grandroom is beautiful, we even get a 25% discount for military service, bringing the total to $1725, tables, chairs, bartender and security include and guests(upto 250 can come)get to go out on the pier. So check out your local American Legion cause you never know, oh and we have the whole morning and day before to decorate. God is a wonderful💕😊

I'm not easily offended, but if I were invited to a ceremony and not a reception I would be highly offended. I would say just keep both small if you can't afford it.

You can't always limit the guest list — like if you've got a huge family. You can, however, plan a wedding that doesn't include a dinner reception. You can do a brunch, an afternoon appetizers and drinks reception, a morning tea, etc. So then there is less spent on the food. You can do catering from a regular restaurant and have them cater big containers worth of food that you warm in rented chafing dishes, so that you're not paying the markup for wedding catering.

I'd love to have a backyard intimate wedding, but just found out about airbnb's party and event ban, including a cap of 16 guests. We were initially going to book a wedding venue but it was so expensive. I cant find an in between 😭

Your additional ideas are great, I’ve actually tried to do all of them. More money than we both thought! The Airbnb’s charge you an event fee and some charge $75 per person who will be there. Restaurant private room parties also charge thousands lowest I’ve seen is about 2500-3k for a party of 45.

My fiancé and I are not religious, so a church is out of the question. I also don’t have any friends/family in the area who have a family home where we could get married.

Also our wedding will be in the miami area (where we live) which our friends and family are ALL coming from different states.

We can’t really ask people to travel to Miami just to only attend the service and not the reception? Right? It seems like a no-go for a destination wedding 🥺

Any other ideas for budget-friendly venues? 🙏
