I really fucking despise djs who do the phantom hand movements… stop it. It looks stupid. Let the mix and the music speak for your skills as an entertainer. People dont care or understand what you are doing on the mixer anyways…

This was 10 years ago, do you think he’s still in business? If he is, he had to change his business name.

He’s missing a fader post that somehow miraculously broke off. He’s also missing the fader knob. Hip Hop Hooray is @ 437BPM. Fast Bro Go! NASCAR.

ive been djing for 25 years and have done prob 500 plus weddings. this type of mixing dont fly in weddings because crowd is mixed and every second they are requesting a different song (from rock, country, to soca in next song). also, they will hate you if you only play 1 min of their songs. oh yeah throw in love songs there too. lots of oldies want slow dance. but you are a good mixer for a club dj.

This video is a great demonstration on mixing track to track!!! What people fail to realize is this is just a demonstration- I was needing some good thorough tips on manual mixing live without all the jibber jabber. Thank you for sharing

Call video DJ 101 and then proceeds to scratch and beat juggle. Even with an explanation this would not be beginner stuff.

I'd love to know more in depth what you're doing with the knobs during transition

I use to mix the way he showed in the beginning of the video at my weddings until I saw this video 7-8 years ago. Mixing and beat matching is the way to go 👍🏼

Can we all just agree that the real amazing feature here is that he absolutely has no rhythm, but can still scratch on beat and drop the 1 on the 1 properly… idk if that's what I would do at a wedding, but you still did what you said you were going to do. And instead of all those "Knob checks" , use those hands to get the crowd hype.

I have been a DJ for more than 30 years on turntables, DCJ's and control boards. This dude is OK, but I agree. He needs to cut back on the movements. Just looks like he's trying to do something he can't. I know you have to get into the groove as a DJ, but c'mon man….

7 years later….I think the hand movement, is there because he is so hyped about the music/video. He's living it/liking the music, or he tries to show that he is (witch better than stand still) doing nothing. And there are some "tik" movements just to be sure. I am catching myself doing this, after a major error on a set. No one is perfect and "better safe than sorry"

I know this was a old video and some good mixing but did you have flies in the studio that you are trying to move away from the mixer..?
