The chef/cake designer can also make flowers that are edible.

I prefer using artificial flowers. Then after the wedding you can disassemble them and reuse them for home decor.

Fake flowers where I am cost almost as much as real flowers because of the labour cost of styling them.
One tip though! Make sure your guests take the flowers home rather than leave them behind to die at the venue

This will depend a lot on the look – decide what's important to you. I'd recommend bridal resale or rental, something that's happening all the time – because so are weddings. I was in this industry for 5 years. Most inexpensive approach? Greenery, you can get lots of it if you're willing to DIY and it's not difficult to make it look great. Storage is another issue: ordering fresh flowers means the storage is on them. Silk means the storage is on you. YMMV, there's a lot of decisions to be made here.

The history of flowers at a wedding served a purpose. Back in the day, people only showered a few times a year…whether they needed it or not. People showered in the spring but by June, they were getting kinda funky smelling. They would carry flowers to off set the stank. Nowadays hopefully the bride showers and there is no reason to hide the funk. Showering is dirt cheap and skip the flowers.
I also.agee…it is not about getting married, it is about BEING married.

The only real flowers I plan on having is my bouquet, I want it to smell nice and I like drying and pressing flowers, other than that I'm going broke b wedding all the way 😅

You can have the fake flowers/foliage in further places, e.g. top of arches, ceilings, or at places that are not meant to be stood in, e.g hallways. Use real flowers for close up or places you will spend a some time in, e.g. dinner table, seating, rooms where guests will be waiting. That way you get the full lux feeling and unless you have the aunt or uncle who has to look for things to complain, no one will notice.

The venue had huge fake flower arrangements. I bought real flowers from the grocery store and made all the boutonnieres the night before. I bought fake hydrangeas online and made my bouquet because I wanted the perfect color and real flowers can't guarantee it. I wanted blue and they said I'd probably get closer to purple.

At my wedding, the only real flowers were the ones we left for the church service the next morning. All others were flowers made of wood: bouquets, hair barrettes/combs/headpieces, men's Bottineau, etc.

Our plan to save money was to get married in court. This turned into having a marriage officer come to a family home with immediate family present. This turned into a marriage officer, rented tables, rented chairs, hired musicians, flowers everywhere, a cake, way too much food, a makeup artist, hairstylist, photographer, 50 unrelated guests (one of which called me by the wrong name) and wedding favours despite us not wanting any of it. I was glad when the day was over, and the family members who wanted all the extras paid for it themselves.

In my wedding, i will have fruits, veggies and condiments as reception decorations, after that, we will instruct sa guest to take home what they can so they can cook them at home😂😂😂

My mom sewed my dress and my bridesmaid's dresses. I took the fabric scraps and used them to create DIY fabric flowers. I bought a few extra flowers at Michael's.

Total flower cost: Ten dollars.

That's what I did. I did some fresh and some fake. Saved a lot and because fake don't die, I was able to buy them well in advance so we could space out expenses instead of having to purchase everything at once. And now I get to re use the flowers and save even more money.

Oh girl, of all your tips I do not agree with this one. I’m no florist but NOTHING replaces real flowers and greenery. It’s just a whole elevation to the event. Sorry, but no to the artificial.

Order the flowers at famers markets for 10% of the cost of what florists charge

I live in a place where there are a lot of ornament plant producers. So for my wedding I bought a bunch of beautiful flowers still on their pot to decorate the tables and corners. Guests were welcome to take them home and care for them. This was low cost, pretty and environmenttally less impactful.

As ive gotten older i really don't care about all these tiny details. Younger me absolutely would have, but younger me was romanticizing the engagement and wedding of it all, not so much a long, healthy marriage.

Even better, you can get a florist license for next to nothing and buy wholesale flowers, and there fake flowers rental services that is way cheaper than buying them

My brother did this at his wedding. His fiancé’s (now husband’s 🏳️‍🌈) mom said something about it being tacky. She came to the wedding and her face was just shock. She caved and admitted that it looked better then she had imagined. But yeah it works and it means you have keepsakes lol-

No. If you mix fake and real flowers, it will only highlight the fake one lol sorry Viv I love you but not this one
