I'm 5mins into this video and I already feel such a sense of ease now. You reminded me that this isn't supposed to be a daunting experience. It's like we're all too focused on how we're going to feel a little awkward but if you just turn that focus outwards, it reminds you that it's not even about you haha if that makes sense. This is such a helpful guide! I'm usually pretty good when it comes to speaches and public speaking, but I was a bit unsure when it came to maid of honor speeches. Your video was the first one that came up when I searched for some help! My older sister is getting married at the end of August, and I want to leave some lasting words for the beginning of their new life together. Thanks for the tips! I was pleasantly surprised when I heard you were also a Christian, I feel so many people in the event industry are not😅

First of all, let me just say how helpful your guidance was in writing my speech for my sisters wedding this past weekend 6.18.22. I had something written up in March and then when I went to add to it , I wasn't happy with it. I watched your video and then totally scrapped what I originally had. Once I followed your guidelines and put more of my own personality into the speech vs trying to me too much like others it ended up being a hit. It was both sentimental and funny without even trying to be funny . I had the guests laughing and crying so I just want to let you know how truly helpful this was for me. As someone who is terrified of public speaking this gave me so much confidence and I was so happy with my speech and everyone was blown away by it as they kept coming up to me all night saying how great it was. You truly helped me so much! 🙂

You said DO NOT mention exs and divorces, but what about widows? I'm the daughter of the bride. My mom and her fiance's are both widows. I would like to talk about the lose of my father, how our family moved changed, how my mother was the rock for all of us and what her fiance brings to our family, a rock for her. A companion, a love to grow old with. Is that ok?
I'm the maid or honor at my best friends wedding. Im also the officiant, because my bestie thought no officiant would put on skates and skate around for the whole time. (The wedding is at Skateland, which is a skate rink)
