Is Wedding Wire and The Knot worth it for your wedding vendor business?

This is a real world review of my experiencing using the Wedding Wire + Knot platforms. Ive used these services on and off since 2015 and have a lot of experience with them. #weddingwire #theknot #weddingvideo #weddingvendor #weddingphotography

i had their services for about a year and then I discontinued but I still get inquiries from them. now like you i would only get one two or three bookings from them until i started using a program called honeybook. to book all my clients and I have all my clients to fill out a questionnaire form. and believe it or not I actually do get a few customers from the knot. but they never sent me a message on the knot they will directly go to my website and then fill out the questionnaire form or they would hit me up on Facebook but they originally found me on the knot. so just because they are not messaging you on the Knot doesn't mean you're not getting any leads from them. and yes I believe they do have a lot of fake leads that they normally send to their featured vendors cuz I used to get a lot of them.

last year I got about five leads and all of those five leads i think one of them actually messaged me through the knot. but the rest of them has been mostly Google or Facebook. for next year so far i've gotten about 6 leads although two of them are not booked yet I need to do a follow-up. none of them messaged me on the knot. they message me from my website questionnaire form.

Has anyone seen an attorney about these websites? I had a sales person pressure me with her expertise into subscribing. I explained to her that we were new. We did not have a lot of money, and of course she got me with one booking per month will pay for the month’s subscription cost, plus some. They charged me $1,600 per month. I bet I have gotten 150+ inquiry about RV from Wedding Wire & The Knot. I have responded to all of them by text by email and leaving a voicemail message. I have not received one response by call text or email. When I would dial the phone numbers for these leads, they would always have some weird voicemail tone and ring. I can see one or two maybe having like a Google voice account or something like that but it was every single number. Always a weird message, I’ve never heard before. I feel like this subscription is a blatant scam. I have read this in multiple places as well as talking to a competitor in my area a few months after joining, who warned me before I mention them to not subscribe. She said that she was with him for a year and every single lead was fake, at least that was her opinion. She also said when Covid happened and they had to cancel a lot of of their weddings and issue full refunds, that she was given no leeway in regard to paying the monthly subscription, either she had to pay it, or they were going to file on her credit report. Which I guess they ended up doing because she ultimately could not pay for the subscription without being able to host events. Like I said, I would love to have an attorney look into this. If they are ripping people off, there’s got to be a way to figure it out????

I am a DJ and this reminds me of the early days of Thumbtack. For a few years they rocked my world with really great positive leads and then something happened. Maybe they got bought by somebody else, but the lead price structure changed per lead and it was obvious we were getting bogus leads and we bombed with them. Such a shame because it was an awesome platform for a few years and then it went to Suckville.

It’s a rip off in my opinion. They call you non stop and fast talk you into this dream of gaining clients and I have only had 1 wedding in 4 months! That’s ridiculous and I’m paying about 279 per month. You are locked in a 12 month contract. I am higher priced as well and I get responses all the time that’s outside of my budget!

This is a fair review of those two 'combined platforms'. . One of my major complaints is that when I HAVE EARNED A 5 STAR REVIEW ON THE Weddingwire IT WON'T SHOW UP ON tHE kNOT. WHY? it's because they both have different response platforms of software. Then for example, as a vendor The Knot tells me that I must ask my clients to go through the extra steps of posting the same review to both websites….This is really a drag.

Hey! So As I am watching this review, you mention that you would receive leads from "Customers" who would not reply, and would pretty much ask the same thing. Whats funny is I had that exact same experience with Yelp Business. I would receive "leads" and yelp would charge you something like $25 per lead IF the customer responds to your response. Did that make sense? Anyways, So to avoid that, I would include my direct number or link to my site and ask that they would reply or inquire there. Whats funny is I would never get a response,. I would always look up their profiles to see if they were real, and some seemed to check out and others, no. So If wedding wire does the same thing , thats cause for concern as even at $150, thats not cheap and also not right. Im suppose to speak with somebody tomorrow about joining / pricing. After this video, I will do more research. Thanks .

From my usage on wedding wire, there is a default message built in to start the conversation. It’s up to the customer to delete the auto message and type their own
