LIGHTING For Wedding Receptions | Godox ML60Bi & ML30Bi Bi-Color Lights
Finally covering the lights I use for wedding receptions. The Godox ML30Bi and ML60Bi lights are an incredible, low cost way to level up your wedding receptions. I’ve always been upset with the quality of my reception footage and that was due to bad lighting.

Totally messed up. The lights range from 2800 Kelvin to 6500 Kelvin. They also don’t come with the remote but I’d recommend the Godox app over the remote anyways. 😅
How high are those light stands ?
Great information. on 1:49 you are showing the Battery Handgrip mount for npf batteries. what model is this?
so how many lights do you have, lightstands and batteries? how many do you bring at a full day wedding
awsome review and great you used sample videos thank you!!
My friend what shutter speed and fps settings do you use ffor this beautiful cinematic look? 4:48 and 6:00
What light is mounted on your camera in 4:18 ??? Thanks
hi there…great footage…lighting is the most important factor for sure…does the Godox ML60 bi provide the same light output whether you use AC or battery? I think some COB lights dim a bit when using battery in comparison to using them plugged into AC… I don't always get access to AC power when needed, but I want to make sure I still get the most power out of the light (even if the battery won't last long but I have lots of large capacity sony batteries)…have you tried the ML60bi with both AC and with battery? The light keeps the same output no matter what? just wondering.. thanks
What stand do you use?
Hey Justin, lovin’ ml60bi’s we have 2 of those! Was wondering if we can power it with a vmount battery? Havent tried but is it safe powering it via the d-tap output? Appreciate the response!
Thank you
Would you use this set up for photography or just video ?
Thanks for the great content! Do you have any videos on how you like your talking head videos?
Hi Justin. You're a great inspiration!. I am interested in getting 2 of the 60's and 2 30's. Do you ever felt you had the need to get lights that have more power like those 200w and above? I know Youtubers always say the more the better but in practice not sure if higher power lights could blind the guests or make them uncomfortable? I'm just stating in videography and for sure need lights. These look interesting and wondering if they are enough 2×2. Started listening to your podcasts. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great Video Justin are you still using these?
You ever thought about somehow connecting a vmount battery to those lights to last longer? If it's even possible
Hi Justin! I love this information, its so useful. I was wondering if you have new recommendations since im just commenting now… a year after this was released lol.
Great video!!
Hello, good morning, question: the LED light you were using on the camera at minute 4:23, what model is it? Thanks in advance for the information, greetings from Tijuana B.C. Mexico
Great Video!!!
Wow, you talk about quality a lot in the video, and your wedding footage totally smashes it! I'm sure it's not just the lights you use, the quality is amazing!
Would the ML30s alone be sufficiant to light a reception dance floor or would you recommend the ML60s instead?
This video being a year old. Has the app gotten better or have you found better lights?
These make so much sense. Gunna start with two.
Hey Justin, i know this is an older video but a question i have is : when using your off camera lights, do you ever get any complaints about your lights changing the mood of the venue? Example: introducing the bright light into a dimly lite, mood lit room?
I was about to buy the Molus X100! I think this is a much bang for your buck. Thanks for this video!
Hi Justin, thanks for the video – can you share a link to the batteries you're using?
Just search for inkee gold crown gc60x5 lights, they are new in the market. Probably the best portable lights right now, that you can just run for about 2hrs in 100% and 90w mode at 150% (build in battery ). I use amarans 60d and 60x tho, they are amazing
Great video! Looking at picking up four of these and was wondering if the app is still giving you issues.
Any way to make that dome fit a Bowens adapter? My lights from GVM are all Bowens
Do you have someone holding the lights for the grand exit and then have a smaller light on your camera? Or is the light on your camera for the grand exit?
Mentorship link is dead fyi
Are the lights really spotty? Do they create hotspots on the bride or groom?
Hi Justin, thanks for this video, it really impressed me how great all the footage look with the lighting. I also realize that the most important thing is placement and power you set them. Would you be willing to share with us how exactly you place them all during speeches, first dance and dancing? Thank you very much in advance!
Dude, you’re going to single-handedly make me get back into wedding film making. I’m a fan and a supporter 🫡salute.
This video helps so much!!!
Hi Justin, How you managed to get the light stands to go so high and how the you get the base plates?
I wanted to be able to run bowen's mount with the battery plate, so I retrofitted the AD300/AD400 adapters to fit the ML30/ML60. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIr72V3g6l0 I've even got a new video in the works on how to make a custom godox mount to bowens adapter
Wondering how many videographers and assistants go with you to a wedding ?
Best video hands down on these lights. Thanks for helping me make my decision on purchasing
I need this for model photography would the ML30 one of them be enough do I really need the ML60 if its only one person
Amazing Brother video Bro! May I ask which stands are you using?
Do you ask the couples ahead of time if they want video lighting? I’m considering adding lighting to my wedding videos, but honestly, I feel like some couples and DJs will not appreciate this.
Hello Justin, Thank you for such a great video. I would like to buy ML 60Bi Godox. I prefer to use NP F batteries. Please let me know how long they work with 100% power. Thank you.
Hey, great videos! Looks like you use the reflector and no barn doors attachment which I see other wedding videographers go for. Any drawbacks to this? Do the reflectors cause any noticeable hotspots in any of the footage?
Thank you for such a great video. Just one question. I am going to buy Godox ML60Bi. How long will work 2 NP-F series batteries when the lighting is maximum? Thank you
Do you still use them today.
Thanks
amazing lighting kit!! wow…I have a couple of LED panels but I'm thinking about getting one or two of the ML…I know the 60bi is more powerful…a lot more powerful? The guests don't mind that much lighting on? I know you control the lights a lot..some of your shots are straight out of a movie for sure. Which camera? I have a Sony FX30 and a Canon C100 mk2
Entire wedding reception with just 2 npf batteries, really? How many hours is that and at what brightness do you use each?
