Such an amazing father of the bride speech from my dad. He knocked it out of the park. What an amazing night and a special moment. I will never forget this. I love you Dad!

This speech is short and sweet and best.
I passive-aggressively used a father's wedding speech to make fun of my unmarried boss. She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. One of our student leader's responsibilities is organizing who works which shifts on the schedule, and my boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up to go solo. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. A couple hours later, after the bride's dad's speech, I said to him in front of my boss, "That was one nice speech, sir. Made me excided for when I get married someday. [I frowned]. Man, I hope I don't end up in my 50s having never been married…especially if I'm still working these wedding receptions."
How obvious is my secret insult?
I've seen a lot of 'best ever' father of the bride speeches on Youtube. Most shoot for humor and that's OK. But this one is down to earth, genuine, from the heart love from a dad to his daughter! Bravo!
Searching for ideas for just such an occasion. What a great speech, straight from the heart. Not sure I could carry that off but I'm definately going to draw on some of his ideas. I thought the way he delivered this and his timing were spot on – if he was nervous it ceretainly didn't show. Thank you so much for sharing.

It seems that fathers usually hate it whenever their daughter gets a boyfriend (even if the boyfriend is a good guy), and it seems that they often hate the idea of their daughter dating, and many fathers seem against the idea of their daughters dating. There are even shirts made for daughters that say "I'M NOT ALLOWED TO EVER DATE" and shirts made for fathers that say "Dads against daughters dating".
There's also a lot of other shirts and merchandise made for fathers that say stuff like "Rules for dating my daughter: #1. You can't!" or "Before you date my daughter, know this: I'm a dad with a shotgun, a shovel, and a backyard."
Most fathers don't want their daughters to have anything to do with boys outside of being friends. Many fathers won't allow their daughters to date when they are in high school or still living with them. So it seems that most fathers don't ever want their daughters to find love and be in a romantic relationship with someone.
So those could also be reasons why the concept of romantic relationships isn't a good thing because of how protective fathers tend to be whenever their daughter dates someone since they are afraid that the boyfriend will be a pervert that will make their daughter uncomfortable (also break her heart or abuse her).
Domestic violence does happen in a lot of romantic relationships and marriages, and a lot of people who are in a romantic relationship or married do cheat on their partner or spouse with someone else. Bad stuff like that happens in a lot of romantic relationships and marriages.

Oh my LORD! I just love the way this father speaks about his daughter! I keep coming back to this video and every time it makes cry! I love the emotion in his voice and it touches my heart… I hope my dad can feel how much i love him every time I Hug him I hope he can tell just how much i love him , I hope he can hear it in my voice when i speak with him and Every time I look at him. I love you dad! Thank you for sharing this beautiful and loving toast! This bride is one blessed woman.
