Nigerian Wedding Wahala – How To Deal With Overbearing Parents

I’m Filipino. I know our cultures are very similar – respect parents, elders, etc. They expect their kids to be successful, educated, respectful/loving, close to the family. This video has been so helpful. My parents and future in laws are already so overbearing. They’re pretty much having their second weddings through us haha it is sooo hard! They want everything done their way and super traditional. Even if my fiancé and I are super respectful, they do their hardest to take control of it. When things don’t go their way, they use the guilt trip tactic. Very frustrating 😂
