Dr. Claire, your content is always so interesting! I’m circling back and watching your older videos, and I’m very much enjoying them! 😊❤
What a strange thing for the Christian associations… And yes Io would be my flower of choice to munch on too. Perhaps I wear them aching for that too 💜.
Ah Pan and his lilac pipes. First loves are certainly the very memorable ones.
Yes jasmine is a heavenly flower. Ah Alien 😍 that fragrance does things to me.
Tuberose I can defo see being very lusty.
Yes rose true love and passion with thorns. I don't think I've ever seen real purple roses. I'd like them.
I remember carnations being the flowers of the 80s
Wonderful video.
I'm thinking of gettin married 🤣 missing the wife but I'd go for violets
There is a bush called mock orange that has a heavenly smelling flower. I wonder where that fits in?
One to add next time might be magnolia. I think I might like carnation best — I am dying to try PHILTRE by Hiram Greene
As a man, I can't really comment effectively on the hidden symbolism of flowers. I will say, though, that I'm well aware of the meaning behind Georgia O'Keefe's flowers … and was surprised you didn't work that into your content (maybe I missed it).
Anyway, for a good green rose you should check out Diptyque's L'Ombre dans l'Eau EDT. By good fortune both that and Eau Rose EDT feature in their precomposed discovery set of 5 on the Diptyque website – so you can hardly miss. Either a fresh green rose for the young bride on her day, or a deep and sophisticated red rose for the woman of some substance who is, perhaps, now wiser and getting married another time round – and this time to the RIGHT fellow. Just a thought –
I had Chloe love story.
So weird that Yasmin means the same as my name 😉
Yes Violets 😍💜 I can see them being for an undying ever lasting love. That's why they smell so good. I'd love violet flavoured milk too. A good life for Io in the end.
Also where is my comment on here? 😱 I clearly watched this one.
Tuberose is mmm yes it draws anyone in.
I think the darker the rose cud be true 😉. I'd love a purple rose too. We only see blooming sprayed ones now.
This definitely needs an update or other part 😉 no Noir de Noir 😱.
Carnations are really quite an unusual lovely one aren't they. So distinctive. Well I think if Oscar lived now he'd be disgusted and appalled by our government nowadays. Bigots R Us.
Fab as ever 🐦⬛🦇🌹🐮 💜
Love YSL Libre and Mon Guerlain, so glad you mentioned them. Great video Claire and very informative 🤩🤩
My wedding fragrance was Bvlgari Jasmin Noir, which seems like it was an appropriate choice!
EXCELLENT video, I loved learning about the language and symbolisms of different flowers, thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you Claire! Such an interesting video, which has further enriched my personal perfume journey!
Hi Claire! I loved this video. My wedding perfume this past spring was Atomic Rose 🌹😻
A+ work! 🙂 love this💗
Claire, I loved this video thank you so much. I am a fan of almost all the flowers mentioned here, but in particular Tuberose, Rose, Jasmine and recently Lavendre (which is surprising me😁)…Ta'if Rose😍 is legendary (to me). Jasmine and Jasmine Sambac are highly honored and essential in our Arabian Gulf celebrations especially weddings.
Now, Zeus had a lot of questionable moves…but this Dairy Cow story is very entertaining😜.
I always enjoy your videos 😍
p.s. A huge jasmin & tuberose lover over here 😆
Were forget me nots ever used in perfumery? I know they have a very special meaning, as their name suggests obviously, but I never knew if they actually have a detectable scent. It would be wonderful to learn more about unusual and rare florals used in perfumery as well. I'm sure there were a few "secret ingredients" used in specially curated blends.
In the Philippines, the country that I am from, the smell of jasmine (or at least jasmine sambac) is often associated with (Catholic) churches as the flower buds are made into garlands and are offered at the altars, so it is commonly thought of with words along the lines of "pure" or even "holy". It can also symbolize hospitality as it is given to visitors to the country as a gesture of welcome. It's so interesting to learn how in other cultures at certain time periods, jasmine could be associated with love that is sensual and provocative. Or maybe it's just the diverse range of the jasmine scent types available that explains the various ways jasmine is symbolized by different cultures.
Loved this! Thank you for all the information. So wonderful 🙂
Thank you dear for sharing
My favorite notes are Rose 🌹 carnitions and violets

What a fun video! I had a tiny arrangement of white tulips for my wedding because I couldn’t afford a big bouquet and I got them at a good price!!! 😂😂🤦♀️🤦♀️

Omg!!!! Turned his girlfriend into a dairy cow!!😂😂😂I’m dead!! Note to self…don’t be flirtatious towards Greek Gods.
