Bought the black one for a wedding but placements were too far away so projecting them made logo way to big and couldn't shrink it

I've gone through the gamut of gobo projectors, starting out with a Martin Mania using a halogen 500 watt bulb, moving into the ETC Source 4 halogen then the Source 4WD LED. However once I tripped into LED DAYLIGHT WHITE I was hooked on LED. My current projector is a Eternal Lighting DMX 120 Ultra, which is a 120watt LED. But I use it without DMX and it can be tricky to get the static look since it has to be manually adjusted every time to set the static or flash rate. I'm looking for something simpler but bright. I was originally looking at the IKON PROFILE but today I see that Chauvet is releasing a 70 watt LED with the same form factor, but I don't see any videos on it yet. Hopefully it will incorporate the same features as the IKON but 70 watts is always going to trump 32. I like it bright. All this said, though, and the problem still remains about keystoning. Getting even coverage of the gobo image is difficult, as the edges tend to fade. It'd be nice if future units would address that, too.

I think any service that anyone offers with the word "wedding" slapped on it is over priced. Wedding Catering, Wedding DJ, Wedding Chairs and tables, Wedding venues, Wedding etc etc. Anytime you say wedding it automatically jumps the price up hundreds of dollars.Its a huge ripoff if you ask me. But I guess they assume that everyone having a wedding can afford it right? Weddings are so overpriced and over rated…

That is so DOPE, I've been following ur channel for a little over 6mo now and U put out some good info. I like how U keep it real. I kept hearing U talk abt a GOBO and, it's just 1 of the features that really sets U a part from other DJs. I have my 1st wedding in May and I will be introducing 1 in my arsenal, Thx man, and keep em coming

How much you charge clients for gobo service?

Also, if I set up the projector 15 feet high, pointing towards the stage area at a wide angle (to make it look decently big) would the monogram still look sharp?
Last question, I seen a few monograms from this Projector in which the corners of the monogram looks a bit blurry.. what can I do to prevent that??
You can even rent a video projector from some audio visual places such as Long and McQuade here in Canada, for 65.00 which saves money while making money and you don't have to worry about the gear being outdated or obsolete in a couple years. Not every client will want a monogram so the projector may not be needed and owning it could be a waste. Why spend 600.00 on an item you won't be using that much. I still like the product but waiting for gobos in the mail and spending more money on a company to design and ship them to you is also not the most reliable. Do it yourself and no problems. Plus newer projectors are totally wireless.

Yup, that's how I run my Gobo rentals too. My rule is, anything I do, as extra, for the client will yield me a minimum of $100 profit. I offer my Gobo service for $199 and substract the $65 in GoboMan fee, I make about $130. I also use the Gator ID Speaker Stands that are hydraulic, with the adjustable leg length for leveling out the stand on a slope. My Gobo service is one of my favorite things I offer.
Gobos cost way too much. It’s an overhead projector film.

Hey Barr do you scrim that tripod you use for the ikon profile?
Great video! We charge $325 for static monograms and $450 for animated. Margins on animated are awesome. Costs $70 to get the animated monogram created, so the profit is about $380 per event! A good video projector will run about $1000-$1200, so it's paid for in 3 events. Even if you only make $300 profit on each one, you can make an extra $6000 a year just doing 20 animated monograms!
Might as well get a projector..Less money on gobos and all digital
PRO TIP: Give the Bride and Groom the monogram after the wedding. The actual steel monogram, I have brides almost cry after the wedding when I give it to them as a keep safe.
Also I highly recommend getting your mongoram (gobos) made from NLFX they cost about $70.00 but always have my gobo to me within 3 business days!
