Never understand trip insurance. Who can’t suck up the cost of a vacation? After all, you can afford to take the vacation.

I just don’t want to lose my house over medical!

Beware of Tinleg, their claim process is ridiculous. Not a reputable company

Good advice. I have always steered away from travel insurance that is sold by the carriers – air, rail, water. I prefer to purchase mine from a reputable insurance company. Also, read the exclusions before you buy. This is the fine print of the policy. You need to know what the insurance will NOT cover. Often, AMEX will cover liability on the car you rent. However, you must decline the CDW at the time you rent for this to take place. As you said, often you will have to pay on the spot and the insurance company will reimburse after the trip.

Booked European trip with Traffalgar, in September of 2023 they recommended I purchase travel insurance from AON Affinity Insurance, this insurance covered everything including lost or stolden baggage, on my first day in London my purse was stolden with approx $500 of cash medicine and a personal jewlery. It took me all day to file a police report with a Traffalgar reprensative present. I filed my claim with all the documents required with the AON insurance and they claim I would need to file the claim with my personal HOME OWNERS Insurance. I told them I pay a very high premium for Home Owners and I could not and would not involve this travel claim with them. Thats why I purchased Travel Insurance in case I had any problems. Therefore my claim was not and would not be paid by the AON Travel Insurance I purchased. Thank goodness it was not a large loss or a medical issue. Just want people to be aware of where they are buying Travel Insurance. DO NOT USE AON recommended by TRAFALGAR

If anyone has claimed against their travel insurance and the claim was dealt with quickly and efficiently then please let us all know as it would seem claim handlers at the moment in the U.K. are incompetent, drag the claims out over months and don't answer the phone or reply to emails.

Before buying travel insurance always read the reviews for the company claim handlers not the brokers, you will be shocked.

AS an ER nurse maybe this will help. in addition to this helpful video I always research medical care, hospital capabilities nearby and ability to be flown out.I was really surprised to see that the Mediterranean NCL Breakaway don’t treat dehydration with IV administration

Hi guys! I’m a new traveler. My husband and I are going to Cancun in March and I really want to buy trip insurance incase we can’t make to Mexico, with all that’s going on with the airlines. Also my husband is a type 1 diabetic so I’m worried about something with that too. We really saved up for our all inclusive resort. Do you have any trip insurance you would recommend? Im just worried about loosing out on all the money we’re spending for our resort. Im not worried about luggage. Thanks any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also we don’t have renters insurance 😊

Question, how do you get the insurance in like 24 hour of booking your flight but have not booked everything else? they usually require a total price for the trip.

Don't get AXA Travel insurance. They don't respond to emails other than send you an automated "We're experiencing extremely high claim volumes, we'll be in contact soon" but they never do write back. Don't bother calling; they'll put you on hold for a long time then finally hang up on you. Filing a claim is very confusing and even after you hit the 'Submit' button, when you go back later to check on your claim status, the website will say "No claim filed". It's maddening… on purpose. All they do is take your money.

For Chase Sapphire Reserve, only part of the trip has to be purchased on the card for everything to be covered.

Big tip on travel insurance. Do not use Safety Wing! They do not pay out claims and once they have your money they don't want to know you.

REMEMBER TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL DO EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER NOT TO PAY ANY CLAIMS. EASY JET ARE THE WORST ,THEY DISPUTED TWO DRS REPORTS I SENT THEM .I SUGGEST IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOOSE YOUR MONEY DONT BUY EASY JET INSURANCE..I GOT NOTHING!

Remember when was young and and added travel insurance by mistake in United Airlines , later I had and accident in czech republic and helped me to find a hospital near me and everything I need . At the end it was jut 300 crowns for cleaning my wound and stitches , I didn't claim that money back , but was glad to have the insurance on time of need , relief a lot of the stress on those situations.

So I went on a nice Mediterranean cruise right before we even know what coronavirus meant. I lost a tote bag. It also contained gifts and items that I bought in Turkey, small ceramic bowls from Greece and gifts for my Mom that I purchased on the ship. The journey was long of course and from Rome to Miami, I know that's where I lost this bag. Well, to make a long story short I realized I left it in the overhead compartment of the plane. The insurance company did not cover because of that same fact…that I left it in the overhead compartment. They will not cover anything that is left in that area of the plane. Beware!

I HAVE FILED A CLAIM with Safety wings/World Trips and what they did – they only found unreasonable excuses not to pay me! I got hospitalised in Thailand with Spontaneous Pneumothorax, the doctors told me its regular INSURED EMERGENCY CASE! MAP from Safety Wings tried to BARGAIN the hospital for too long NOT TO PAY THE FULL PRICE OF MY TREATMENTt, so I had to pay all bills beforehand by myself because all their bargaining postponed my urgent treatment while I WAS IN A SEVERE PAIN!!
By now I still didn't get payed, they try to put on me the pre-existing disease of an old man, while all my exams and doctors have found no problem and mention "patient has no underlying disease, is absolutely healthy young man"! So why a hell did they offer money to hospital directly and now rejecting to pay me??? Easy target! Just find a stupid excuses!

PLEASE NEVER TRYST THIS COMPANY! THET ARE FRAUDS NOT THE INSURANCE COMPANY!
