It’s respect, common sense and ethics….. that hits home all to real…. Sadly but true. Thanks for sharing this.
After many many years that I was not playing in a Wedding as Dj, finally I get my first in 2022 August to be exactly, and what happen I do my homework I meet the couple and my playlist in everything to be perfect as they wanned, the day before at they wedding I get so anxious that I don't get any sleep that all, the day of the wedding I was so freakout, and I don't have any clue what to do next, this wedding was special too because they want me to play from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am, and for the dinner I was resting in my car, lucky me I don't need to play any music for the dinner, any way the groom noticed that I was nervous and I little anxious too, I was playing good without any problem until 2:00 am, at this time the want offer they guests some snaks, I was take I litte break because I was not feeling good, and I let the groom know that I want to take I little break, my assistant play some prerecorder mix that I did before, I was done with my break and I finish the party, they thanks to me and everyting ok und bla bla, but unfortunately this couple give me a baad review and not good, the point is could be worse much worse if I don't show up, and I didn't even think about it. I can live with this baad review because I was nervius and I take the break and I assistant was playing a prerecorder mix, but will be my end as a Dj if I don't show up that day. This year was fantasic I did many weddings with happy couples and great reviews, sorry for the long text I just want to share my experiences with you guys.
before watching this video.. i already committed to that even in my contract, if do not show for any reason they will get their security and additional $250 even if theees a funeral etc. this is my commitment to your wedding I will arrive on time ⏲️
Nick, didnt sound hypothetical 😲😲 but TRUTH hurts let the masses deal with it
RESPECT each other boundaries..Im inn the same boat so my circle is small brah..
This is a good rule for life too 🤣
WORD
This was very eye opening…thx for the info…enjoyed the video.
Im just getting started myself.
Few years back in Brooklyn they was doing a random traffic stop and locked me and 2 other cars up for suspended licenses and one of the dudes was on his way to do DJ a wedding, suites and all! When I tell you he was stressed out in that cell man o man,and me being a DJ I felt his pain the whole time.
I'm Italian!!! LOL!!!!!
Agreed brother! Do what you say your going to do and show up!!My two biggest pet peeves. On the other hand.. what do you do when the customer drops you last minute?
Real specific “hypothetical“ 😂😂😂
I was asked to cover a dj who backed out 3 days prior to the event. Could'nt do it because I was already scheduled for a wedding that day. always stayed committed. Good Words
Only way out is in a box. The show must go on….
you are 100% right. it's the biggest reason i don't like helping other dj's out. i've been screwed over in the past. I'm like you, 1 and done. Thanks Nick
The few people that disliked this video are the ones who can’t commit. 😂
I'm a young dj and just started doing weddings a few months ago. If I make a commitment to something, I will do everything in my power to honor it. I have two weeks of late assignments to prove it (yes i'm still in school). The only time I did something even remotely sketchy was I had my own event booked on a Saturday and one week before, my boss for the company I work for tells me he had me doing a wedding that same day that I didn't know about, and they were double booked, but I had to say no cuz I had already said yes a month in advance to the other event.
How about if you commit to a wedding & they they had to change their date but you as a DJ have already been booked for something else on the date their wedding was changed too?
Great video but I really love the part about holding Grudges and not dealing with Douchebags every again. This is so true. Life is to short to have a relationship with a Douchebag. Cut them off, it will save time, energy and the extra stress!
I've been a DJ for 29 years & have only had to back out of one wedding. I had NO choice. It was in August & I got the covid & was as sick as a dog. I wanted to be there, but was absolutely unable. Other than that, I would NEVER back out of a DJ event.
Just dealt with that the day before labor day. Got a call from a bride at 8:40am on her wedding day, asking me if I can DJ her wedding because her DJ "ghosted" her. B&G, wedding party and all of their guests were traveling to Florida from Atlanta.
I can't imagine doing that to someone!!
Werd!
Not just wedding – but basic business practice – honor commitments, honor agreements. And yes, I have no issue with dismissing people that cannot honor their agreements. None… buh – bye..
100% agree commitment and reliability.
My Sister Died That Afternoon & I Still Committed Myself To Do The Wedding. That's What She Would Have Wanted Me To Do. R.I.P. Sis
Facts 100%
all true statements.its more than a commitment.its a duty.ive djed weddings passing kidney stones on vicoden, morning of one wedding my dogs got in a fight and i had 22 stitches in my leg.be there and have a pair
I had this happen to me last month. I had a wedding set and caught Covid. My mentor came in and did the wedding for me at the last minute.
I honestly can’t believe how many couples I’ve seen scrambling to find a dj cause theirs backed out. As a fellow Italian, I will also hold your grudges 😂
All facts homie! 🤜🏾🔥💥
I agree it says a lot about the person! painful way to pull weeds
“Hypothetical” 😂 Preach!!!! I’m sorry if this happened!
