Getting marrried soon and I have been struggling to come to terms with whether or not to jump the broom with my fiancé(hes white) , it feels wierd and not really appropriate. But I want to honor my ancestors and my heritage so this video was extremely helpful!!
thanks
I totally understand, feeling that, jumping the broom is living in a dark time, but I also see it as honoring the people who found love and their own traditions, even in the midst of oppression and suffering. Their spirits were not broken beyond the point of rejoicing and joining. Whatever the future held.❤

Why do some Africans get married or have weddings inside the house?
this was dope to learn! i recently proposed & my fiance and i started conversation about our ceremony.. she was going through a planner/organizer that mentioned traditions.. either of us have any, but these are certainly on my list to research further to include.. specifically the tasting of the elements. i hope there is no offense taken if your ancestry is not known.. again, this is dope!
You are a brilliant communicator.
NICE
Money spraying comes from Odu IFA. It is originally Yoruba tradition and a direct dictate from the Ifa corpus through babalawo/iyanifa. More than 50% of Yoruba tradition and culture comes mdirectly from Odu Ifa dictates. Yoruba party a lot and all Nigerian ethnic group have been continuously moving into Yorubaland in their hundreds of thousands every year in search of a better life since the begining of time. They learn to speak Yoruba, Dress like Yoruba and Party as Yoruba.
If you look closely at Nigerians? most of the southern culture use beads but their Gele nowadays looks the same because some have borrowed it and Yoruba styled agbada particulary used is being worn by all Nigerian ethnic groups by all southern Nigerian Ethnic group in such that it is difficult to tell apart in their weddings. If you are not a Nigerian, you can hardly tell apart.
I want to appreaciate our brother in diasporal for making this video and it is good to research claims like what I wrote here for a personal conviction for the benefit of all.
Jumping the broom origins can be traced back to European wedding customs and African.

Im crying 😭♥️ Thank u brother for this information 🙇🏽♀️ Manifesting my wedding 🥰🤲🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Another thing is giving the groom a cup of alcohol or some drink overed by her hands so that as to declare him as the one she wants to marry and he drinks it all and puts money in the cup she cover it with her hand and the both present themselves to her parents to get blessings . And another one is the greeting of entering your new home its a dance you when when entering your husband's home women dance with the bride and sing some king of chant

Thank you so much for this
Hi there. I like This video (and I'm looking for a guy, do you have any friends that are conscious but not over the top in the black thing I'm going to get you type behavior. I'm looking for a person that's well rounded but is conscious of who he is and feel good about being himself Thank you). 👍This is a great video GOD Bless.
You are a very attractive man!♥️

How will african feel with african Americans adopting these traditions
Can I get a name for the tasting ceremony? I mean besides the obvious.
Sharing food, money spray, pouring the liquor, cracking the nuts, and no cat in a bag… bro this sounds like a night in the club… Thanks for sharing these positive roots. Reevaluating these actions
Thank you for explaining these traditions the way you explained them. This has been extremely informative and helpful. Blessings to you and your wife.

Waddup Hometeam family, check out a famous tradition in East Africa during the bride price ceremony, where a number of girls cover themselves up from head to toe and the groom has to choose his bride! If he gets it wrong he's usually fined during the bride price negotiations. In the past, he would wed the lady that he chose!
This was awesome! Thank you.
Umm you mainly only covered West African traditions. There are other parts of Africa you know.
Introduction ceremonies…
The seeking etc… none of that was mentioned. Not as exciting and insightful as I thought. But I liked the first one at least.
Pouring libations is more West central African. Unless someone in southern africa corrects me, beer is drank not poured to honour your ancestors
Congratulations 😍👑👑💖💖
LOVE THIS
ThankYou so much King!
Love from Kenya
