I bring a small lockable case with me. You can wrap the cable around your chair and it will hold your phone, your wallet, your sunglasses, all the small things you don't want stolen while you are out in the water. It is still small enough to fit in your beach bag to carry around. I am sure there are other brands, but I have a Vaultex Lifepod. It won't stop a professional thief, but it stops thefts of opportunity.

When I am not traveling it is in the house with my passports, emergency cash and whatever else I think should be locked up (within reason for the small size).

Edit to add that for whatever reason they are popular with the gun crowd so if you google the Vaultex Lifepod you will find a lot of video and things where they keep firearms in them. Not my thing, not my usage. Just want to warn you about that.

These hints work for cruises too! I ask the steward to put a bucket of ice in my cabin so I can top off my cup wherever I am.
That pashmina is also good for visiting cathedrals, mosques, and other sacred spaces. Many also require closed toed shoes!

All of these tips are great however there is some concern of the effects of sunscreen chemicals on reefs and aquatic life, so perhaps an alternative is a sheer shirt and/or leggings with an spf rating. I don't personally need them but I have seen them and they are attractive and lightweight.

Your tip for bringing a container to take food from the buffet is spot on. However, I usually bring leftover plastic containers from Chinese take out as they are lighter and won't break in whatever bag you pack them in. I also like to take food down to the beach to enjoy and these work just fine for that too. I know plastic is not the best material for the planet, but if you wash them out and bring them back home you will be doing your part to keep the beaches clean and can use them over again. Works great for messy nachos too

I'm carrying a personal item only. How did you get thru TSA with 2 packs on your waist? Won't it set off the alarm?

Love the tumbler idea. I detest warm drinks😂

a collapsible silicone food contained would be an even better choice if you can get one because, as the name suggests, they take a lot less luggage space, and are much lighter than a glass container, so keep an eye if you can find one

Fabulous useful tips on essential travel hacks – especially the beach bag that doubles as a personal carry on and the thermos that can keep drinks cold or warm.

Yes, our carry-on bag doubles as a beach bag! And we always travel with insulated tumblers and water bottles. I guess we better head to an all-inclusive resort someday. ⛱ Heidi

Good idea to load up on sunscreen rather than the other supplied liquids when packing the much suggested carry on.

Please tell me how you are able to keep the coffee flavor out of your beverage thermos for water or cocktails later in the day. I find coffee flavor/smell permeates my stainless tumbler and cocktails and water taste awful. Another great video thanks!

At one resort my family and I stayed at. When it was time to leave besides giving a tip to the maids, whatever remaining food we had, we also gave them them to the maids. They really appreciated that.

Make provisions--by all means—for one's self—fluids – for the binary values of it liquids to quench thirst, as it is capable of forestalling hunger —at least—for a while.

When I and my wife travel in Egypt:
1. In winter my wife use hydrosuit to keep you warm to swim.
2. Use microfiber towels on the beach.
3. We buy alcohol in duty free because alcohol in Egypt is bad.
4. use rope and clothespins when changing swimsuit.

I still pack a mini first aid kit. Last month at an all inclusive in Mexico, I scraped my legs on a rock at the beach. I was happy to have a mini neosporin tube and a couple bandages. Saved an embarrassing trip to the lobby for help.

The dry case you have barely fits my phone so I need to remove the case to make it fit also the plastic is thin where it meets the strap it didn't break but I just don't feel as comfortable wearing it I tried another brand that worked better and somehow cheaper

Tummy meds , always ! Especially Imodium. Different food and lots of sun and drinks. Oh, I also bring those little squirt bottles of flavouring with electrolytes to add to a bottle of water.

We bring a stack of post it’s and a sharpie to leave requests, like only a certain thing but lots in the mini fridge. Or just to say gracias to the maids. And always leaving the tip stuck to the post it.
