My family's weddings all have kids but it wasn't until my friends started getting married a few years ago that like making kid areas/kits became a thing. They didn't get used at all

so funny that you mention slime in this ugh i hate it when my kids come home from school with it because it ends up in stuff or just dried out on the counter but i cant stand that crap and my kids 100% do not need it ever! lol

OMG! I have a Silas too … it was definitely meant for me to find your channel 💗 Especially since I've been feeling pretty defeated over this planning process

We had 2 kids and colouring books and glow sticks are definitely the way to go!

Could you do a video about wedding processions? I don't want my dad to lead me to my new husband because that feels like a sexist passing of property, and i have an uneven nunber of bridal party members, so they cant walk in couples. I don't quite know WHAT do to. Help! 🙂

Jamie, I really like your channel and you as a person. But that "inclusive" children's colouring book is subversive. I don't want my children learning woke values and for them to unconsciously accept gay marriage. It is quite frankly, wrong.

Jamie! You're so awesome, I love this. I was wondering: could you talk about destination weddings?

When I find mr right and get married I am DEFINITELY having the kids in the family at my wedding. The wedding would not be complete without the children.

There is 1(!) confirmed child attending our wedding and she will be 3 years old. Her parents are travelling from another country and… Yeah, I would have loved going child-free, but FH felt icky about it. So from the bottom of the heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!! ♥️

Just ordered some of your coloring books! So excited to give them to the kiddos at my wedding in 9 DAYS!

We also intend on covering the kids table in brown craft paper so they can color on the table.

I just picked up 20 of the building blocks for our school room. My kids love them!

I have a LOT of favorite Jamie’s, but red lip Jamie is probably in my top 3. 👄 👍🏻

I recommend the Crayola Color Wonder markers. I think they're the kind that only color on specific paper, and not linens or clothing. Also at the restaurant I work at we put white butcher paper over our table linens and we let the children draw on it.

This is perfect! I’m getting married in 25 days and completely forgot about gifts for the kids in our wedding party! When would you give them these baskets? We’re not doing assigned seats, just assigned tables.

We went kid free with our wedding a few months ago. The only "kid" we had was my 11 year old nephew. Our guest list was only 40 people including us but, if we had more people and had invited kids this definitely would've been done! I totally agree with you on the slime, who would give a kid slime at a formal event?????

Reply
@snhannis 7 October 2024 - 11:32 am

Omg I completely didn’t even think of something for kids at the wedding to entertain them! This is great!!

@dannianneco8971 7 October 2024 - 11:32 am

Love all these tips!! I would also recommend large magnetic connecting shapes, it pretty much goes for most ages and they play with them for ages! Pop them in a basket on a picnic blanket and they are done.

I just read this really quick and as a Scottish person thought you were saying no kilts for kids I am now laughing so hard at myself

Reply

I was leaning towards youngling free, however the other half wants the small ones on his side to be present and I wouldn't want to exclude the lil potatoes on my side if that the case..

Super love watching your videos. Lots of info and you always crack me up.
Got a dilemma: My wedding is in April and it'll be Thailand. Me and my partner are expats there. 90% of guests are from abroad – mainly Europe. We have opted for child-free wedding and made it clear in the invites. A few guests have newborns and have said they are bringing their babies. Help! What do I do!?

Congratulations on your new books! I'm happy for you. Gonna be honest I wasnt going to watch this video but saw it said new announment so had to watch for that but did get a few ideas of things I can bring with me for my 5 year old to a non wedding event soon. Yes shes old enough to pick her own 5hings but sometimes little surprises are just fun.

When I was a kid and I got drug to a wedding for people I didn't even know I had to sit quietly in the back for 40 minutes. We couldn't see or hear anything going on in the front. Fortunately the reception was right after and it was held at a community center with a park right next to it. So all of us kids went out and played in the park. At another wedding I had to go to as a kid there was no park, but there was this nifty hollowed out tree and all of us kids went and stood together and shared various stories of our guardian angels and how they had saved our lives. It's amazing what kids will come up with when you just leave them with their own imagination and no structure.

We also walked to school in the snow, 40 miles, uphill both ways. Kids these days are so spoiled.

I love this because all I ever hear about is how to do child free weddings or hiring babysitters. On occasion I see craft tables for the kids but not this level of inclusion.

I work with kids and love them. I can’t imagine getting married without the kiddos in my life, but I want them to have a good time to and not just be bored, crying, and ruining the fun for the parents the whole night

Reply
@EJBradley 7 October 2024 - 11:32 am

Definitely leaning towards kid-free. Only exception would be my cousin but he'll be 13 by then
