I'll tell you why flat lays are important. Did a wedding last week. I got there 1 hour early.. told the groom let me get the stuff for the flat lay.. and, he left his stuff at the hotel. Shoes and cufflinks. Glad I said something lol😂

Hi John, thankyou for an awesome layout of what photos are important for a wedding prep. My niece is getting married next weekend and she's asked me to do the wedding prep photos. I've only done a few before and your great video has helped me put my plan together. Now I can make a list to check off and hopefully get all those important images.😊

What if you are stuck with a not so photogenic getting ready venue like a hotel room? My bride will be getting ready in a hotel room and then driving to the wedding venue.

LOVE your videos. Quick q, when you say you show up early for dress and flat lay photos, do you charge for that extra time? I've been needing at least 30min to set up the flat lay, but don't feel right showing up early if I am not getting paid for my time. I've started telling couples they need to build that extra time into their timeline, but curious how others do it!

also tip to other photogs: ask the bride who will help her put on her dress. I've had lots of brides whose moms have passed or aren't in their lives, so I try not to assume mom will be there and accidentally bring up painful memories!

How do you right your own timeline? I always seem to be fighting with the planner over the timeline because they never want to be flexible with the time needed.

How do you figure out the time that you show up to do a flat lay based on the actual time they've booked you for? Say it's an 8 hour wedding and you had already agreed to come at 1pm. What time would you come to do the flat lay?

Exactly what I needed. My first solo wedding this weekend and I’m so excited but nervous! It’s a bit of a time crunch timeline so grateful to make a plan and go with it 🙌🏽 thank you for the great content!!
