I want to have a really cute ceremony with an arch and in like a feild or smth like that, but Im Traditional Catholic, so we have weddings in a Church. Don't get me wrong, Churches can be absolutely beautiful, but I'd love to have a ceremony with a cute backdrop. Ik I could get pics somewhere else with an arch but it's not the same 🙁
My mom is from Cyprus and they do exactly this. I've only been to a couple ceremonies but I've been to a lot of receptions as a tag a long because they were mildly fun but I mostly wanted this dessert that is usually found at them there. I didn't know many of these people because I was again tagging along. But I did realize very quickly this was obviously a tradition
My sister had bridal party pics before the ceremony, immediate family picks right after the ceremony, and a sitting area for after dinner where people could congratulate her (she was 6 months pregnant and had Lupus)
In the Czech Republic the couple stays by the altar/wedding arch after the ceremony and then people stand in a queue to congratulate them, I hate it, I think it’s awkward but it’s a thing 😄 You congratulate the couple and then you form a line on each side and the couple then walks down and you throw idk petals or blow bubbles and stuff, I like this part 🤗
My friends officiant did like you said and grabbed the mic and jumped away bc the groom told him beforehand that he was gonna dip my friend during their kiss lol
In ireland we leave the church first and stand at the door, people hug you on their way out and since they aren’t wanting to hold up everyone else, they move it along quickly
