I heard an extremely wealthy man(Duke or something) started the DIAMOND Engagement ring, having it made to please & gain the favor of his intended(displaying wealth of their nobility).
–I know the reasons for the wedding ring, BUT I think it also protects you when you're out without your husband! Bcuz any man who hits on you while you're wearing your wedding ring, you automatically know is a creep(he doesn't care about you & has no long-term intentions).

White wedding dresses are so exhaustingly boring! Sad how people follow traditions so easily without thought… can’t people be original

Both bride and groom are given in Jewish marriage, and are escorted by BOTH parents. Also no bells. The veiling of the bride is mentioned in Genesis and the modern ceremony (immediately before the ceremony) is called the Bedeken.

In Jewish weddings the bride stands on the groom's right. The groom honors his bride in doing so as the right is the side of honor.

it STILL is the best mans job to kidnap the bride where I live (aka Bavaria in the south of Germany): We have a tradition called Brautvaziagn: this means that the best man 'steals' the bride during the afternoon and 'drags' (obviously she comes with him willingly) her off to the nearest pub or bar. The band then notices that the groom has just married the bride hours ago and has already 'lost' her, so he (and all of the guests following him) tries to find her. Once he has found her, he has to pass a series of challenges and games to get her back. The whole thing is crazy fun for the wedding party because the music accompanies everything and there is a lot of drinking and dancing on the tables. Oh yes, and of course it's super fun for everyone except the groom himself to see how he has to pass all the tests.
