Make sure that 'checking insurance coverage' is one of the items on your wedding to-do list.

I had a backyard wedding before I was in the business and did not think about the liability issue then at all. Now I would be much more careful!

Make sure to think about insurance needs when planning a wedding.  Backyard weddings are wonderful and range from picnic-type affairs to white glove catered events.  I have been to both types – both were a lot of fun and well planned

Hosting a wedding can be a lot of fun and weddings can also be stressful with all the planning that is required. Make sure on your to do list you contact your insurance agent to make sure you have the proper coverage in place.

Many homeowners policies will allow you to add a special policy just for the day of a large event. The cost is usually minimal but with vendors and guests on your property it is prudent that you protect yourself from any liability. These policy’s are very inexpensive but a vital part of protecting yourself!

This is great information and something I'm sure not many people think about when hosting a backyard wedding.
