The number one rule as a wedding guest is that you never ever want to overshadow either the bride or the groom.
Basically, you tone it down. You don’t wear wild colors, you don’t wear bold patterns…

I've been guilty of outdressing everyone at the wedding 😂 whoops
All I wanted to know if you can wear jeans with a suit jacket. Still not sure…
In Serbia at weddings all the guests will just be in dress shirts and black pants 😂
I bet u are not wearing matching pants making this video
Im attending a wedding next week, with a bunch of my mates, cause the girl in our group is tieying the knot.
All the invitation said: 'no dark clothing, cause your not attending a funeral!'
So went with beige pants, blue dress shirt, black tidy shoes with darker blue stitch lining. (Only have 1 pair)
Opted out of a suit jacket cause i tend to get warm really quickly of the venue is slightly smaller and hot due to amount of people
2 others are basically the same clothes, 1 mate has different pants pattern but same shirt.
Thoughts?
Can I just wear a nice blazer with a nice t shirt and slacks and dress shoes? I hate wearing dress shirts and ties
You can wear a tuxedo to a wedding? As a guest? I've never seen this before.
I like to wear a sandwich board listing alllllllll the infidelities the people getting married have commited after they told their ' partner ' they were going to be physically monogamous with each other. That + a list of everyone in the wedding party the couple are currently rolling around with.
Formals irrespective of gender >
I've been in the situation before where I was a guest at a wedding but mistaken for one of the wedding party. It can feel embarrassing, or like you're being disrespectful, so it's a good idea to communicate with any members of the wedding party first. Ask to see what they're wearing, so you can make sure to steer clear of that. Even if you're not necessarily outdressing them, it can happen that they have a sort of uniform that you unknowingly adhere to. Always good to stay informed!
I’m going to a wedding in September. Haven’t seen the groom in over two wears because I live in Japan currently. Idk what to wear because I have no details. I found a suit but I’m cautious about wearing it but don’t want to look like a bum
Is it me or did all of these combinations look absolutely awful?
So much talking…. 😮
Suits suits… Kind of having enough of suits, something nicer with a coat or something? Suits rly start becoming monotone and dead
I’m attending a wedding as a guest what do you guys think of this outfit. black blazer, navy blue tie or navy blue bow tie, navy blue slacks and suede Chelsea boots?
Why not balck?!?!?
Is it acceptable to wear a morning suit like Prince Charles’s grey one when you’re a wedding guest?
I am going to be such a great man. I feel weird saying that, but I am humble. I just worry that the little things will now be visible, more conscious.
Still don't know what to wear lol
I love this!
Need help from anyone? The beige corduroy suit from the latest James Bond film, would it be a good summer wedding suit? Or too casual?
Can’t go wrong with business casual
Rule number 1 is kinda hard for me🙆🏾♂️
What if the groom just has bad style? Haha
Look, bro, i work for a local suit business and we constantly have wedding parties that do rentals and they all wear the same suit and stuff, and I'll tell you right now that 99% of the dudes that come in want some crazy colors for their outfits. Just my take on it lol. For my wedding I'm definitely going to make sure that the wedding party has a nice and new suit in their wardrobe that they can use for any other sort of occasion. I was thinking dark charcoal 🤔
Can you wear a bow tie if not in the wedding party? I always wear bow ties to work. I cannot stand longer ties.
Going to a wedding in 2 weeks and have no clue what to wear lol
The all black look is mostly my style, it never fails…
I wish I had known about your advise years ago when I had several weddings to attend but better now than never 😃I have learned allot since watching your shows to say the least
Do you really need to tell guys to not wear a top hat? Seriously, how many people would put a top hat in the choices of things to wear to a normal wedding?
My girlfriend’s sister is getting married in November and I jokingly told my gf I would wear a Kilkenny style dress kilt, she told her sister who was 100% on board and wanted me to wear it, however I brought up the rule about not out dressing the bride(or groom for that matter) and told her it would be better if I didn’t so long as no one else would be wearing any traditional wedding attire from their home country(my gf’s family is Polish) but there’s always my wedding to break out the traditional attire.
I was invited to a “beach formal”…in laguna beach California in July. Rocking a suit but I might pass out from the heat.
How could one dare scoff at a man in a nice black suit with a black tie on a black tie invitation? Especially when all these movie stars show up in notched lapel Tuxedos!!! I wish notched lapel tuxedos would disappear.
Thanks. Would like to have seen more examples of "garden formal".
