Hi can black tie optional be the same as semi
formal ? And what exactly is semiformal ? 😢 it’s quite confusing for me. Thanksi loved the information. i have a senior ministry gala in dec and i'm being featured in a fashion show . modeling 2 high end black tie gowns one black with a cifhron ruffle over the shoulder neckline and and a champagne beaded sequins encrusted gown with ruffle neckline . is that appropriate for a gala event?
Hi 🙂 can you please talk about the different types of shoes for black tie vs cocktail as well as the clutches that go with these two events and the type of coat that should be worn at a fall/ winter black tie event.
Thank you!! 🙏
Hi! Since u are quite the expert, i want to ask for some advice. I'm organising a gala for my climbing club/sorority (in holland, so think lots of drinking and climbing are the usual activities) for it's 100th anniversary. Most of the members or +1s are not super rich since were all students. Do you think its more appropriate to do a black or a white tie dresscode? The girls I'm organising it with say white tie, but I'm not sure if the people who are invited will even understand how formal that is and how to dress/ buy clothes accordingly. On the other hand, it is the 100th anniversary only once and the location is a chateau in belgium. What do you think? Is it maybe also a possibility to say white tie optional? Love!
Fantastic video! I absolutely love Mac Duggal dresses..such beautiful and elegant designs 👌🏽👌🏽
And if it is a black tie lawn party, stilettos may not be the most practical party shoes.
In the Middle East, formal black tie events allowed for traditional Arabic dresses for men and women and I always wore a rich formal sari to those events with my jewellery, clutch, formal heeled slippers. I sometimes do an updo, sometimes I brush out my Bob stylishly. Women in many Indian black tie parties sometimes opt for the beautiful saree. In a way they are like long flowing gowns. 6:39
Also how do you do this in hot summer months? I just found your holiday playlist… thanks for that! – edit to add more- travelling with your formal clothing, what to do if some goes wrong, little tips for managing the event I think will go a long way. Nobody really talks about these things. Lastly, I noticed a lady a few days ago holding her day dress because of the wind, so people really get weights added to their dresses, where do you go to do that? Also what is your opinion of what to do about tan lines
Thank you! Can you please do more on this subject because it’s easier to find this information for men but not for women. Getting ready for the events, I am sure you have some funny anecdotes as well. Could be fun 😊

What can I wear for smart casual?
Hi I have a white tie, black tie cocktail dinner to attend, and I have black and white jumpsuit is that ok to wear for such event ?
Hi Annie! Great video! In fact, it has inspired my girlfriend and me to share a fashion question that we have been struggling with, in hopes that you can help us! My girlfriend has bought this incredibly beautiful evening gown for a New Years black tie event. The only challenge is that the gown is too long and needs to be hemmed, but she is unsure about how long to keep the train (or even if she should keep it). Do you have any advice on this? Are trains on an evening gown just for pictures on the red carpet, but impractical or a faux pas at a real world black tie event? Are there options to keep the train, but hem it to maintain a touch of drama while still allowing for a midnight dance on New Years? Finally, are there any etiquette considerations with a train on an evening gown for a black tie event? We have just discovered you channel and love it already. Any advice that you may have would be incredible! Thank you!
Thanks for this Annie I was about to order a tuxedo style skirt suit for a black tie event. Glad I did not!
Can I still wear long gloves to a black tie event? If not, can I wear wrist length gloves? Or no gloves at all? 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this wealth of information!

Good job explain everything !!!! Thank you 🙏❤️🎉
Hi
Could you please recommend outfits for couples anniversary dinner at a 5 star restaurant?
As we are heading to fall, I am wondering if you decorate your house for fall. If you have any classy not tacky ideas can you share it with us please? Also can you give us elegant outfits ideas for fall outings e.g. Apple picking, pumpkin batches, Oktoberfest, kriskindlmarkt etc . I am talking all adults outings no little ones. I would like to look chic😊
Thank you so much for answering my question by making such a great video. You’re awesome 😍
Great topic! Thanks for keeping us ready for our best lives ❤
Always a pleasure to see your video, this dress is amazing, thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot for such a great video. It is very informative and helpful:)
Wow! I was never bothered to research these nuances 😮 A very informative video. Yet again Shelli taught me something!
Great video 🎉 Your point about showing your host/hostess respect by dressing in the manner requested on the invitation made me think about how infrequently we hear about "how to be a good guest." I see lots of articles and videos about how to be a successful host or hostess but very few regarding your responsibilities as a guest (dress appropriately, bring a gift, timeliness when arriving and departing, making an effort with the other attendees, etc.). I wonder why the info in this space is so lopsided? A successful event requires effort from everyone! No dead weight, lol 😂
